Mario & Luigi: Brothership

That really reminds me-does anyone else here really miss those big instruction manuals that used to come with games that told you about everything in the game and everything to do in the game and how to do it, about the game's enemies, etc? I miss that era. I think that era ended around 2007 or so because I noticed that's when Nintendo DS manuals started getting really short and only really outlining health and safety and the buttons and what they did and stuff, and just basic info about how to play the game. How boring.....😒
Yep, my Super Paper Mario manual is kinda crinkly because of the sheer amount of times I would spend sitting in the family living room reading it as a kid. I still remember how much wonderment I felt every time. Stuff like re-reading the classic intro story, wondering what the silhouette girl really looked like, learning about the Pixls I hadn't gotten yet and being able to only imagine what could come next. Good times.
 
@MiracleDinner Yeah I know; first console and handheld I grew up playing as a kid was the Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP. I remember how the manuals would tell you with each game about the story, characters, enemies (with most of them), etc. It was really fun reading all that. Like not only would they do that with Nintendo titles, but also other licensed titles, like Shrek, etc.

I still have my Mario Galaxy and Sticker Star manuals. (Yes, Sticker Star had a manual.)
 
So does Starlow have the same role in this game as in past M&L titles, being the Bros.' companion?

I'm guessing not because I heard she hangs out with Peach now? Was her previous role taken by the flying piggy bank thing?

Kevin Afghani STILL Doesn't sound good as Mario; Charles Martinet is STILL My Favorite VA for Mario. . . the Only Mario voice good enough for me; is a Voice that sounds A LOT More like the voice we got from Charles Martinet for 27 years. . . Like the Brazillian Voice Actor, Raphael Rossatto from the Movie, Who CLEARLY based HIS Voice performance off of the Iconic Charles Martinet Voice(Instead of Sounding like Emmett Brickowski doing an Impression of Rocket Raccoon like we got in English)
It's clear at this point after 2 games, Super Mario Bros Wonder, as well as Mario & Luigi: Brothership; Kevin's NOT going to give me the kind of Mario Voice I WANNA Hear from him; aka one that sounds like that of Charles Martinet's Iconic Performances

and I Really hope that Bowser DOESN'T become the main antagonist AGAIN like he did in Dream Team & Paper Jam. . .

Seriously; THAT'S What the Mainline Mario games are for; Spin-offs should be allowed to be different; INCLUDING HAVING DIFFERENT MAIN ANTAGONISTS THAT AREN'T JUST BOWSER LIKE IN THE MAINLINE MARIO GAMES!!


That's One Reason I've become so Apathetic to M&L, and didn't miss it at all(Still Don't)

Because I Get SICK of seeing Bowser as the Main Antagonist in the Mario Spin-off Games; aka the Games; THAT ARE ALLOWED to be Different; solely because they're Spin-off games; which means; they are NOT obligated to keep Bowser as the Main Antagonist in these games like they are in the Mainline Games; Because in Spin-off games; we can see Mario & Bowser team up against a common enemy; Like against Fawful in Bowser's Inside Story; or against Cosma in Mario + Rabbids: Spark of Hope; or Against King Olly in The Origami King; or against Count Bleck in Super Paper Mario, or against Lord Smithy in Super Mario RPG
You were right to not want Bowser to be the final boss.

It's unfortunate some people were rude to you for expressing this, when the game is so much better off by not having Bowser as a final boss. Bowser as a secondary antagonist/ally in RPGs allows for opportunity to flesh out his character, and the final boss Reclusa was necessary for the story Brothership tells of real world connections vs technological isolation.

That aside, I think Kevin Afghani did a great job doing the Italian gibberish.

No. She's an NPC with her role taken by the flying piggy bank thing. The two have some cute interactions in the story.
 
I finally beat the game! Not 100% though, as I have a few challenges to do but I'll do those on my own time.

What a fantastic game! I'll make a review and post my thoughts on this thread soon. It was a little on the long side, but hey, that's better than a short game right?

I liked Zokket and the Extension Corps, but when this guy showed up I was very surprised. The final area was awesome and so is a sequence that happens midway through (no spoilers about what that is)! And of course the fight was very well done. I'll safely say this game has the best and most fun boss battles in the series.
 
While I enjoyed the game, I think I'm most disappointed by the soundtrack. Not for the reasons a lot of others are, though. I personally love the boss theme, and many of the island themes are great too (some standouts for me are the inside of the Lottacoins building and Heatfreeze). The issue lies with
Why didn't Zokket get a unique battle theme? As I've stated, I do really like the boss theme, and it worked well for the other bosses, but it makes no sense for Zokket to still use it.
