    Your friend does something wrong, however instead of asking for a second chance, they asked confusingly they don't know why it is bad but is willing to make up for it, but they want an explanation and to explain their confusion, will you let them?     I suppose I should be apologize for being so vague the whole friend thing is just a example, two clear things is my dad ordering off his bed ... then telling to get back off and then repeating till I just retreat to the living room crying because I got yelled at for doing what I told, then I was ganged up in a conversation for saying that I only care for two people when I always try to help everyone, not helping that I didn't know a lot of my emotional conditions, I was forced into doing "better" without giving a defense because I simply didn't want to lose friends after not having them in my life

    I think as long as they show they true intentions of not wanting to hurt the other person, and willing to change their future behavior, then yes. A will to listen to the other should be a mutual two way street. Especially in scenarios where both parties feel harmed.

    BUt ofc, this is my AFAIK opinion, based on my own recent experience of a break-up where I had to leave because no'one would listen to me, and I also suffer from brain fog which worsened the situation because I told them I needed to sleep it off before continuing the discussion, which they rejected..
