  • Is Acquired Situational Narcissism a real thing? Because if it is, I'm surprised that some people who have this haven't had their ego flood their empty heads with hot air so long ago.

One thing I'll always stand by is that personality is a fluid thing. For instance, my character has completely shifted in the past couple of years. You find yourself becoming the person you never thought you would become, and it's not always a bad thing.

I used to be a self-conscious introvert that thought everyone else was better than me. Now, even though I can still be self-conscious, I believe I'm quite talented and can be very confident and outgoing. However, it's very easy to take this too far. Things change, and people can become narcissistic surprisingly easily without even realizing it.
If you ever plan on joining the Total Drama, don't. I know what they can do, and they can really rip your world apart.
My head feels as heavy as a Sledge Bro, my body feels as drained as the moat of Peach's Castle in SM64, and my spirit is wishing it was in the Overthere right about now.
Is it true that the first comic issue of Fantastic Four established a lot of canon, but none so firmly as Reed Richards' inability to read a room?
I've been suffering from a feeling of inferiority for the last few days. I just keep being reluctant and doubtful of my abilities as a writer and that I'll never be on the same level of writing as the people around me.

Oh, don't say that. I'm sure someday u will be famous in the area that u write in. Also, don't think you're inferior cuz everyone sucks at something and I bet writing isn't the thing you suck at. I am nice.
It's honestly surprising that Trey Parker and Matt Stone are some of the biggest slimeballs in the animated entertainment industry, yet they've somehow managed to survive for nearly 30 years with humor of the crudest degree being featured in literally anything they create.
My Nintendo 3DS let me down once again by shutting off my game of Animal Crossing halfway through, causing me to lose my progress and get a visit from Mr. Resetti upon reloading my game. This is my little reward for having owned my 3DS since 2011 and playing Animal Crossing: New Leaf on it since 2014?
If my personal headcanon of the Koopalings having been retconned to be Bowser's adoptive children instead of his biological ones is correct, and Ludwig being the eldest Koopaling, if something were to get Bowser (The current ruler of the Koopa Kingdom), and something else were to get Bowser Jr. (The next in line for the throne), that would make Ludwig the next person within the Koopa Troop hierachy to inherit the throne, assuming that Bowser has implemented such a leadership clausule for the Koopa Troop.
Today was an average day at best. Had plenty of irritations, but also had my moments of peace during the day. All in all, this day can best be compared to the majority of the Mario game library for the Game Boy Advance. And to look on the bright side of things, an average day means things can only get better from here.

Today was a day that was decent at best. Got to engage in a couple of fun activities with my dad here and there, got a couple of good bites to eat, and got to wrap up the day with a decent night of television. Overall, this day can best be described as a typical episode of your everyday sitcom: A mixed bag.
Finally had a decent day at best during this extended weekend. It's gone from eating a Poison Shroom to eating a Poison Shroom with a little salt on it, if you know what I mean. Here's hoping tomorrow will continue to be decent.
Today was yet another rollercoaster of emotions for me. This isn't exactly how I envisioned my extended weekend to go, and I'm hesitant to call it a crummy weekend because while I have had a couple of small positive experiences so far, I personally feel the emotional highs are tarnishing the weekend.

Sorry to hear that. Yeah, sometimes emotions can cloud out the positive experiences of a day.
I think I need a bit of a break from the internet as it's been making me unusually aggressive for the last few days. So that means my activity on the site will most likely be limited to only once or twice a day. Just a heads up.
Currently feeling kinda moody because of a couple of bad memories of my time in the Total Drama fandom lingering on my mind. Had I known back in 2020 how jerky and twisted the Total Drama fandom was, I would never have engaged in it.
The Sonic Fan Characters Wiki on Fandom is gonna be closing down due to the stagnation of fan communities online as well as the site staff not really finding enjoyment in staffing the site anymore...This is gonna be the end of an era for me...
Did Toby Fox work on the PMTTYD Switch remake? Because I recognize the voices during text boxes as being inspired from Undertale.

Nope, he's not credited for it. The similarity is probably coincidental. There are only so many ways to do those little "here are some short soundclips strung together" type of voices.

That said, some of the Twilighters do sound rather like Sans, don't they?

Ah, I see. Thanks for clearing that up.
Why do 99.9% of all YouTubers let the fame go to their heads if you give them even the slightest bit of it?
    Hooded Pitohui
    Hooded Pitohui
The reasons are complex and it's not possible to paint every case with a broad brush, but I would reckon fame tends to warp how people view their relationships to everyone else. Massive attention from the public invites constant scrutiny, harsh criticism from strangers, and excessive praise/fawning all at once. Attention is already a heck of a drug on its own. Consider how stimulating it is (for better or for worse - sometimes you're exhausted and still can't look away from the computer) to see online chatter and messages, especially concerning yourself. Multiply that greatly, and suddenly you're awash in this stimulation that you're going to keep craving even if it's actively making you feel worse.

Then add to that a sense of being "critic proof". You have to shut out the most vitriolic comments from your critics, because people can say truly nasty things behind the anonymity of a screen, but it's easy to slip from there into denying and deflecting all criticism. Then your decision to disregard criticism is easy to justify, because you have all these legions of fans praising you. You must be doing something right, right?

So you're awash in a level of attention you've probably never had before, you're craving more of it, which starts turning people from people into... well, merely fans, potential fans, and folks who don't like you, and you're incentivized to move as many people from that middle category into the other two (even negative attention is attention!). That's already changing your dynamic with the people around you. Add on that shutting out your critics and embedding yourself in an endless stream of praise making you feel smugly superior to a lot of other people, another change in how you relate to everyone else. Maybe you also become obsessed with comparing yourself to other famous folks, another way in which the way you relate to others can warp! You start to see yourself as powerful and talented, and it becomes easier to justify exploiting people around you. After all, they're inferior to you! They should be thankful you let them have the opportunity to work for/with you at all! Maybe on top of all of this, your life circumstances are changing, because, say, this has all made you wealthier, so even there the way you relate to other people is undergoing a massive change.

All of these rapid changes, all of this new self-perceptions, all of these new ways of relating to people around you, it's going to change how you behave.

@Sir Pentious It's just based on personal experience. Like half of the YouTubers I have watched over my lifetime let the face go to their heads, both in my homeland and in English speaking countries alike.
What are people's views on the phrase "Violence isn't the answer, it's a question, and the answer is yes."?
What I wouldn't give to live in a timeline where my grandparents got to live into their 90s, COVID, internet drama and other shit that happened to me during the 2020s never destroyed my mental health and I was having success with whatever venture I chose to follow in life...
This is my personal opinion, but I'm not really a fan of the Extreme Home Makeover reboot, and I think replacing Ty Pennington with Jesse Tyler Ferguson was a mistake. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against Jesse, but given that Jesse is an actor and I know him from Modern Family, when I see him hosting a reality show, I simply don't see Jesse Tyler Ferguson, I see his most popular character, Mitchell Pritchett instead, and for some reason, it makes me uncomfortable. With Ty Pennington, I never felt anything awkward watching him at work because Ty wasn't an actor like Jesse is, so when I see Ty, I actually see him instead of a fictional character like I do with Jesse.
Don't you just love being woken up at 4 AM in the morning by a mosquito and being unable to go back to sleep afterward, knowing you have to get up at 8:30 in the morning to get ready for work?
