Petey's head would always get in the way in Double Dash, so whenever I wanted to use everyone's special item I played King Boo. I think it would be similar in Mario Kart 7, unless the game's camera is vastly different from Double Dash (which is possible, since Double Dash was such a different...
But people aren't using it as a camera (at least, not from what I've heard). Some consumers (apparently a lot of consumers, actually) do use the iPhone as a gaming device, and it is competing with other portable game platforms. If you're perfectly fine with playing games on an iPhone, why get...
As interesting an idea as this is, I just can't picture Mario in any kind of shooter. Nintendo would have to make it so that it would be extremely different from other shooters on the market.
My determination for an overrated character is a popularity in-game to popularity of fans ratio. If the ratio is small (1:4 or so), I consider them overrated. If the ratio is big (4:1), he or she is underrated.
For the most part, Waluigi isn't that liked by fans. But because of the little...
Actually, many people (me included) considered buying a PS3 for the Blu-ray alone. It was a cheap way to have a Blu-ray player at the time. Also, according to some websites, the iPod/iPhone is now the most popular gaming platform. Most people do not buy those kind of products for the games.
Oh, I agree that those features aren't necessary, and for the most part don't add anything significant to a game. Sometimes they can enhance a game or even be a major feature (I'm of the opinion that people mainly get Call of Duty for the multiplayer, and because almost everyone has the game)...
Um...
Anyways, actually many of the points he mentioned are selling point for a good amount of gamers, and they actually have been for a while. People used to buy and play games that looked and sounded new (HD graphics, 5.1 sound), that they could play with their friends (online play), or...
Is there an option to live peacefully in some area without any conflict at all? I'd like to be on that side. I don't think I'd be able to benefit either side, seeing as I don't have any amazing talents like Bowser or Mario.
Yes. I'm not one who really cares much about graphics, so it might be that they didn't bother me. But I didn't really see a problem with them. They did their job.
That game makes more sense being linear because of the way the game is (a mash up of 2D and 3D). Though, I would like a bit of free roaming myself in it.
Re: Overrated Mario Characters
Maybe not any loud ones here, but I was under the impression that she had fans elsewhere. I'm really only saying this because she's the most important female character in Mario games, so I logically came to the conclusion that she had a bunch of fans somewhere...
That's what I figured, but how would the Pinata be able to follow Mario? I guess that he could do that teleporting thing that partners in the past did when they were out of place, but that looks really fake.
I didn't notice anything wrong with the graphics, and I haven't played the game recently enough to remember AI rubberband. I do sort of recall being able to get almost any item at any time, however. Even so, the game was very fun for multiplayer, and I think it had the best battle levels of...
Re: Overrated Mario Characters
I must be hearing the louder fans too much then. It sounded to me like Lubba was getting a lot of praise from some people.
What would his out of battle action be? The only thing Pinatas are known for (besides a terrible justice system) is their throwing ability. That would be useful in battle, but I can't see much of a use outside of it.
I can't think of any games I loved that I wasn't alive for. I've played a few, but I didn't love them. They were fun to play though.
If I was forced to pick one, I'd pick Super Mario World.
Sequels tend to deviate somewhat from the original. Nintendo pretty much took the linear levels from the first game, and added Yoshi and a few more items.
Re: Overrated Mario Characters
True, but there have been people asking for him to appear in spin-offs and more major roles, which I think he does not deserve.
But Donkey Kong is much more than just jungle. I wish that games would feature other places from Donkey Kong's homeland.
Though, I suppose it makes sense for him to always have a jungle level. I just always thought he could have more than that.
What else are we supposed to compare it to?
Admittedly, I tend to let nostalgia get in the way of my judgment for Mario Kart 64, but it was in no way a bad game. The items were much more balanced in that game, and that is the main reason why I don't like to play Mario Kart Wii.
Did you guys...
Her backstory wasn't sneaked in at the last minute. It wasn't really a fleshed out story, but there was still an explanation as to why she exists. I also didn't mention how powerful she seemed to be (according to the ending of Super Mario Galaxy at least).
The only thing he did was steer the...
The Mario series has been going in a casual and easy direction. I'm not saying that Mario games were ever extremely difficult or hardcore, but Nintendo has been catering to the casual crowd (that is, the gamers that don't play games too often or gamers that only play easier games) with most of...
The Mario series isn't going in a direction I would like, but it's still relevant. I would never call it bad, and I wouldn't even say it's getting worse. It's just not the same as it used to be, and I'm not sure that I like that. The last amazing game I've played was Super Mario Galaxy. The...
Re: Overrated Mario Characters
If I may speak on their behalf, he's mentioned as being so amazing and funny, when in reality he just had a few interesting quotes and was a mildly interesting character. The way he talks has been done before too (just not in a Mario game). That's not to say...
As much as I like Luigi, I'd rather not see him in a Paper Luigi game. I would be interested in it if they decided to go along with it though. It would be an interesting twist.
Re: Overrated Mario Characters
The reason I consider Waluigi overrated is because he hasn't really shown any potential in the games he's been in (other than being the perfect spin-off character) but people keep asking for him to have his own game or to star in a more mainstream game. In terms...
