I know I once said I'd be impartial to this, but I actually think it would be nice to explore Mario and Luigi's bond a bit further, but overall it's not something I want more than anything or whatever. I just think that'd be neat.
Day 16: 16-bit
Super Castlevania IV (Bloody Tears)
Nothing deep or philosophical to say here, this theme is just a jam. Debated whether to put The Treasury theme or Simon's theme or even the Chandeliers theme from the same game instead but this one I enjoy most.
Are those really plot holes tho? Pretty sure a plot hole is something that exists within the story that doesn't make sense due to previous contradictory info that was already established. The absence of story bits that aren't integral to the plot is not a plot hole.
Spring Man was already an assist trophy, I completely expected him not to be the one, especially since they said it would be an ARMS fighter before revealing which one, and I doubt they'd hype it up this much only for it to be the "mascot".
That's not a plothole but more just a convenient way to let you earn shines. Mario has never really made sense in the first place anyway.
>Mario.
>Plotholes.
Pfft. Yeah, you know my stance on that.
Day 15: Boss Battle
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Dodongo/Volvagia boss theme)
A boss theme that perfectly manages to capture the urgency of the situation and represent the sheer threatening factor that the beast has. It may not be the best boss theme composition-wise, but damn it...
Day 13: From a game I don't like
I'm just gonna be controversial again and pick my favorite theme from ttyd.
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door (X-Naut Fortress)
This theme is such a banger. If there's one thing I like about ttyd is its ost, well for the most part at least. Keep in mind that...
SURPRISE SURPRISE not really we all know the 'Shroom releases monthly who am I kidding.
Issue 159: Saluting the Caelin gang
We did it, boys. Lundgren is no more. Lyn is back in business and the Caelin gang is there every step of the way to ensure she adapts to her new life. Sain continued...
I have now temporarily broken free of the Pito shackles and am now voting like a true civilian.
Now that QQQ is done... it only makes sense for Phoenix to enter the stage right?
Day 12: Le Sad Theme
I could have saved this one for 16-bit day but I have another one planned, and this one here really fits.
Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War (Conversation 1)
Calling this track "conversation 1" does such a disservice to this beautiful theme. It packs so much emotional...
Mario Odyssey's ending was the best scenario that could have happened in that particular moment (except kicking Bowser's face I thought that was kinda unnecessary but I don't mind) and no one can convince me otherwise.
Day 11: Puzzle game
Okay so for today's pick I decided to go for a very, very obscure game series, but nonetheless some of the first games I've ever played, before getting into console gaming. I am getting so nostalgic right now, guys.
I present to you, Luxor, an ancient egyptian-style ball...
Oh, definitely Ike. He's the main character of my favorite game ever and also my main in Smash. Also a great character in every aspect.
I also like Link.
I mean for all we know Mario may not be holding his belly but actually be putting his hand on his hip, which is a more natural pose. Paper Mario's body is just so round that the hips are not discernible.
O'Chunks is basically picasso wario then
Now next we say that Mimi is Castlevania death because the flying rupees are like the flying scythes and they both have a spider/insect-like form.
WAIT A SECOND THAT ACTUALLY WORKS WTF
Well by objectively it's more that I meant that, personal bias aside, the game DOES perform better in a lot of areas and shouldn't be discredited, but it just isn't my cup of tea and this is pretty much where I say that by no means is the game terrible or even bad. I just wanted to make that...
Day 10: RPG battle
Live A Live: Megalomania
I have not played this game, at least not yet, I'm interested. But my god... this battle theme. I mean, ok it's a boss theme but... just listen to this amazing theme!
Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
Hoooooo boy... Finally! Finally beat this game! Ok. So let's just get this review over with.
Once again, I find myself relying to the same format I always use, so story will be going first.
Story:
The story still isn't that big an improvement over the...
Hey guys guess what?
Turns out I did do the drawing on my PC. And I do not regret it in the slightest.
Here she is, and I'm proud of this piece. Just in case you didn't know I love Fiora so fucking much, and I'm glad I finally got around to digitally drawing the cool woman
I actually have no...
Super Mario Galaxy (Pre-2019)
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance (2019-present)
I think there's been times where I wa smore in the mood for other things than Mario Galaxy but... yeah that's the gist of it.
I'm in my default theme again!
Well, if you count the Fiora pfp as default, that is. I mean I'm pretty sure at this point she represents me better than anything else on this forum nowadays.
Also I added Sayori from ddlc to the sig because she's my precious cinnamon roll and she deserves to be...
Day 7: Indie
shit, I already did Shovel Knight... uh...
Megalovania?
Listen guys. It's an inside joke with my irl friends and I cannot not mention it at least once.
I'll think of one for day 8 now.
I can see that the information here is clearly dated tho.
For the record, you still liked Bleck back then apparently, before considering him the epitome of stupid.
Opinions run in the family do they
Option. Fucking. 1.
This game seems to have all I need. Even badges are returning in some form. So yeah, I'm not cautiously optimistic anymore, I'm just sold.
Except he kinda can?
What's stopping him from introducing the objectively most relevant Kirby characters? Bandana Dee is easily the next candidate, I don't how anyone else can really contest him in that regard. As much as I'd prefer Dark Matter instead.
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
(Oof, glad to still be able to play this to take a break from TTYD)
Anyway I beat chapter 15 and its 1 AS boss. Cool stuff, really. Nothing else to it, except that I really like the map design post-timeskip.
Day 6: Relaxing Music
Kirby's Return to DreamLand: Chilly Area
Even as a kid, my jaw dropped when this theme started playing. It's an astounding, yet simple composition that perfectly captures the emptiness, yet beauty of the snowy, frozen lands of the south-western corner of Planet Popstar...
I don't actively dislike any of the characters in the poll tbh. Like, Rosalina is the character I have the least attachment to here but... I don't even dislike her so, I don't think I'll be voting this time around.
Which is why I love the first game so much. Its levels are very well designed and those that have backtracking are designed around the idea so as to make it the least tedious possible. Chapter 6 has a central hub from which the areas branch out. That spreads the walking distance pretty thinly...
Oh ok.
In that case the fact that the lack of a speeding up option is so noticeable in TTYD is telling, I'll say that. Say what you want about the spin dash being "wonky" but at least it's effective, especially with the speedy spin badge, it saves a lot of time and makes the few boring parts of...
