the halo books have a good reputation. i read one and enjoyed it, forget which one though
i also read a bioshock book that was okay, but not really good enough to recommend
the republic commando series is pretty good, if you count those as video game books
oh hey, its a genre i play a lot

Bioshock - You're stuck in an underwater retro-futuristic capitalist city and have to get out. Gunplay is meh, story and atmosphere are...
Dany is okay, I dont really hate her but apart from
I feel like she doesnt really earn any of her victories, they just seem to randomly happen.
The Sand Snakes really are amazingly terrible, with paper-thin motives and stupid plot powers (teleporting to Tristains boat in S6, for instance)...
Yeah, it's pretty good. Watching the Empire have to play smart because they were the underdog was really interesting.
Thrawn Trilogy (Heir to the Empire, Dark Force Rising, and The Last Command) and the X-Wing series were great about showing the struggles of the growing New Republic. Skipping...
Well, it was better than The Force Awakens, though that's not saying much.
I'd rank this movie alongside Batman v Superman: It's a stupid movie but there are some really cool scenes in it that are worth watching even if the rest of the movie is bleh.
Star Wars films ranked:
1. Episode V: Empire Strikes Back (all around good movie)
2. Episode VI: Return of the Jedi (meh act i, fantastic climax)
3. Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (a few missteps mixed in with actually great moments)
4. Episode III and a half: Rogue One (slow start, great...
Hey, so since we have so many people and my irl group bailed on me, I suddenly have lots of D&D prep that I need to put to use or I'll feel like I wasted way too many hours of my life.
So I'm now accepting signups for a Dungeons and Dragons (5th Edition) campaign! If you want to join, I need...
T-15 minutes, and clouds were threatening the eclipse. So I made a rational decision and hit the highway and drove in the direction of no clouds for ten minutes. Made it to a random exit off the highway where we could see perfectly.
There aren't really words to describe it. I mean, yeah, it...
Some people just don't want/need as much communication as you do; calling repeatedly usually has the opposite effect (makea them avoid you more).
I would say if you've already tried to contact them and they haven't responded then it's pretty clear they just aren't interested anymore. Don't take...
Yeah haha, I had to refresh the page about fifty times before I finally got it to load. Missed the open but otherwise saw the whole episode.
Pretty good!
i started playing conquest
even by the standards of fire emblem games this plot is painfully dull, granted i'm only at chapter 8 but so far i haven't seen a single interesting character interaction. corrin is just one of the most boring wooden protagonists i've ever seen in a video game (and...
Let's be honest here, SM64 and Galaxy 1 have the worst rosters. You can literally only play as Mario? Practically unplayable.
Sunshine and Galaxy 2 are runner-ups, since you can at least (sort of) play as Yoshi.
If your argument is that apathy (anhedonia as you're calling it) is preferable to depression then I can't really argue with that... But consider this:
Apathy has a way of killing the good emotions too.
One of the great things about bad emotions (paradoxical as that statement is) is how they...
Baby Driver
I dunno, I was kinda expecting more. It wasn't really bad in any way, and I definitely enjoyed it, but it didn't really satisfy me in any way. Like, I felt there wasn't really any big payoff of anything in the movie.
Re: My Super Saiyan Analogy
I had to read (and write about) Plato's Republic as part of a Political Theory class, as well as assorted writings by Locke and Hobbes and other philosophers.
Not exactly the steepest credentials, though.
Re: My Super Saiyan Analogy
If it still offers the benefits, then can it not be said that human interaction is at worst an indirect path to "true" good value? For instance, I'd wager that a group of humans working together to solve a problem and assist each other in times of need has more good...
Re: My Super Saiyan Analogy
Considering the effort he put into this post, and the fact that he's responding to comments, I'm led to believe this might not sort of odd trolling attempt.
And if it is, hey, let's see how deep the rabbit hole goes.
Re: My Super Saiyan Analogy
Readability has greatly improved, thank you.
I can kind of agree with your approach to the whole "pursuit of happiness" thing, but would have to disagree with the assertion that no "good value" can be derived from interactions with others - in fact, I would say that...
Re: My Super Saiyan Analogy
What about the human ability to take what you'd call "good value" and de-value it? Let's say for breakfast every morning you eat the most delicious apple. It's healthy, it tastes good, and it's a great way to start the day. Eventually, though you start to de-value...
I mean they all have jokes, but it's a matter of frequency. Winter Soldier would probably be on the serious end of the scale, with Ant-Man and Spiderman Homecoming on the more lighthearted end.
You CAN kill them, but it's pretty difficult. They'll gang up and target you two or three at a time in the second room, and they were oneshotting me when I had ~15 hp.
The best method is to just shoot them over and over with arrows, since their heads are pretty big. If you get in melee range...
Barbarian Armor is overall less max damage than Guardian Armor, because the bonus doesn't stack with the Attack Up food bonus. Guardian Armor set bonus gives you ANOTHER damage bonus on top of the Attack Up bonus, as long as you're using Ancient weapons.
Kinda odd that they don't decrease...
Even with the Master Sword the Lynels still have absurd HP pools. The fastest I've killed one was with the full set of Guardian Armor, using an Ancient Battle Axe++, with a attack boosting food item. That's a pretty hefty amount of damage, and it still takes at least 30 hits to take one of these...
So I've (finally) got around to playing this, and overall it's a fantastic game... except for a few (somewhat minor) things.
First of all, rain is awful. Like, honestly. Every other weather-related problem can be worked around with proper gear or weapons, but if you need to climb something and...
