Yeah, no. There's a difference between a game looking like crap, and a game not looking as good as others.
So in other words, you convinced yourself that NSMB games won't look good no matter what, huh?
So SMW can be excused for lame level themes, but NSMBU can't, why?
Wow, you aren't paying attention to NSMBU at all, are you? Its anything but bland, it looks nearly drastically different from the other NSMB titles, the music, well done, and don't tell me that things like Boost Rush, Challenge...
So removing the Egyptian theme from deserts and adding in Moai Heads and ice cream and cake isn't now, but making a blue sky black is?
Making the final world Peach's Castle isn't new, but trees with faces (by the way, there are none in the actual levels) is?
Bullcrap.
OT: The Developer feature video for anyone interested.
It seems like the sky world is separated into two parts: NSMBW style sky, and rocky mountain skies.
Yeah, a few tracks means that somehow the game is less polished.
Hell, if the game had absolutely no reused tracks, I bet you'd start to complain about the PHYSICS next.
Milked is COD. 7 games in 6 years is milked.
4 games once a console in 6 years, is NOT milked.
If you count the number of main series Mario titles from Super Mario Bros. to Super Mario Bros. 3, I'd say the ORIGINAL SMB series is more milked than NSMB. If it is at all.
And NSMB2 does not look...
So, you were excited in a game you've never played before, then you thought it was crap because you bought it, yet you said you never even played it--
Are you making sense, in some way?
What a paradox.
OT: No, I don't. Its Doki Doki Panic with a run button and reskinned. It doesn't matter if elements or enemies were immigrated into other Mario games, the game itself isn't a Mario game.
Re: Re: New Super Mario Bros. U
Um, great level design, good music (oh who cares if its the same as NSMBW, its still good), they learned to make use of a staple in the series, its decently lengthed...
What makes it BAD?
Implying that they don't.
Can't accept something that's not true.
And no, SMB2 USA bares no resemblance to SMB1 AT ALL.
And it doesn't matter what Miyamoto was involved in. He was involved with Skyward Sword, is that game part of the Kirby series?
A recurring complaint about some Mario game (specifically the New Super Mario Bros. sub-series) is that they just use the same Grassland, Desert, Beach, Ice, Snow, Mountain, Forest and Lava themes in their worlds and levels. How do you think they should change it up?
I'm thinking of a level, a...
I want bosses that turned out to be Giant Mooks who took a power-up.
Hell, I want enemies to take power-ups period.
I want to see Fire Koopas, Ice Goombas, Squirrel Boos, Penguin Lakitus...
"am I supposed to like the ridiculous premise"
Collecting coins? That's too absurd! Now a Shoe that somehow lets you walk on spikes and kill Piranha Plants? Totally reasonable!
"am i supposed to like the fact that instead of making new bosses they just reused old ones that sucked?"
You didn't...
Re: Things in Mario that doesn't make sense
So the things that don't make sense to you is "Why is this sort of unrelated character not in this game?"
Well, 1. Tatanga's dead. And 2. Chargin' Chuck is an American Football based character. I don't think he would fit in a game like Mario Hoops...
"Uh, what does interest mean if making DK games should be a routine?"
Because Camelot, the studio who makes Mario Tennis, are not the type of people to make a DK game.
I'm thinking of a system where you can host a game, and host levels from wherever you already unlocked, but you can't join games that are in levels you didn't unlock.
