Mario Kart Wii discussion

Does it ever get boring torturing CPU's?

No, it doesn't. I lapped Wario TWICE several times and made him get zero points the entire 12 race match.

Actual People would be more fun for me, knowing your making somebody rage, that would be a great feeling.

I find that feeling truly terrible as I have sympathy and I know how it feels like.

There's one thing I learned about online playing; never, and I mean NEVER, play as Baby Peach on the Bit Bike while picking Rainbow Road for the track. Just trust me on that. I'm pretty good as Toad on most karts.

You know what's worse? Any light character without a weight boost + Quacker.

I used the Jetsetter on Rainbow Road without falling off, BTW. I think I had an easier time handling it than inward drifting bikes which screw up my drifting on Rainbow Road, thus making me slow down.

Off a pit, that is. A speeding Bowser won't do much if there is no bottomless pit nearby. And a speeding Bowser will do his best in a Piranha Prowler

Oh yeah. I hate it when I'm racing as Toad or Koopa on Rainbow Road, and I'm surrounded by heavyweights.

I can only imagine how it feels like to be with only human heavyweights. CPU heavyweights are never much of bother. In fact, I spend my time knocking THEM off in Wario's Gold Mine.

Well, even if I did have internet connection, the CPU make more interesting opponents than human players IMO

Did you try making her last in Wario's Gold Mine? All you need to do is make items strategic, bikes only, and then choose a heavier character, stay behind, get triple shrooms, knock her off. My sister and I did that.

I am happy to hear that. In my game, I made it so that Baby Peach is ALWAYS a particular CPU and that she is on the same team as Daisy, Waluigi, King Boo, Donkey Kong, and Wario.

I know how it feels like too. It's the art of competition. Where you put your skills to the test and improve over and over. Even when I lose, I try harder to beat the guy who made me lose, until I finally get them back. Kinda like SSBBrawl. I played that tons, always trying to improve learning startegies, learning each characters moves to the point I cant remember them specifically but when I play I just know them some how. I do have room to improve in both Brawl and MKWii (Getting better at Roll Dodging & learning some nice shortcuts that will help.)

Do you ever let someone win because they're so terrible at the game, you feel sorry for them? I forgot what the term is called, but I did that once in online.

Pity. If you ask me, it's like adding salt to wounds, or, in short, an insult.

Of course, people that tend to be bad at games like this because it's their only chance of winning. Really, the way I see it, they let them win because theyre horrible at the game which, isn't something I would like to be called.

That's what breaks the barrier between a skilled player and an asshole for me. If someone did that to me, I'd probably quit the match.

I rather lose trying my best instead of winning because they let me.

Ok, I completely understand your stance on this. I'm not going to criticize you on that; that's pretty reasonable.

I'm not usually a competitive person. I play pretty much for my own pleasure

I don't get as much fun playing against computers. You can tell they're just AI and when you play against people you can see how they play and watch their strategy which is completely different from the one strategy the computers use thats really stale.

I love Mario Kart Wii, and have unlocked all characters and karts/bikes. I just happen to have only 1 star. :p

So, I'd like to ask you guys [if it hasn't already been asked]: What's your favorite character to race as, and what vehicle?
