Mr. Bones confirmed canon.

Also this makes me wish my parents would let me buy this because man, this might be better than the show.

All in all, it was good, though underpar for a Scootaloo and Rainbow episode. I also didn't really like the inclusion of Luna, it just didn't feel right... but great animation as always. So it wasn't too bad, but I didn't particularly like it that much. I'll have to rewatch it to get a better impression though.

D'awwww today's episode was just so darn adorable and heartwarming. I think this is pretty much the equivalent of Sisterhooves Social for Rarity and Sweetie Belle as this one is for Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo. And that's a really, really good thing even if the two characters aren't actually sisters.

Luna's appearance was pretty cool too. First time she'd had a role in an episode that wasn't a two-parter or all about her returning and what not. I think all the Luna fans will have something to celebrate here.

I was laughing quite a bit thanks to Rarity and some of the faces throughout the episode. (Scootaloo's eyes the morning after her first nightmares especially).

All-in-all a good episode. But Twilight didn't appear, so now I'm going to have something else to put in my Avatar. Damn it!

All of Season 3 so far has been at least decent in terms of FiM Standards. But the last two have been amazing, hoping they can keep it up.

Somebody explain this, is Scootaloo an orphan or something?

We don't know Rainbow Dash's or Fluttershy's status with parents either. Wonder if it's something about Pegasi family life they're not showing us. We don't know Applejack's either I suppose (Though it's quite possible that could change when we get to Apple Family Reunion) and she's an earth pony but we still know her brother, grandmother, sister, a whole bunch of cousins, uncles, aunts, etc. that we know she's good in terms of family.

Also using a Twilight face from the comic book for this week.

GREAT NEWS GUYS I DIDN'T RAGEQUIT THE SERIES

Watching this on YouTube while I'm typing this!

Warning, incoming massive wall of text, view at your own risk!

Rainbow Dash with some bits... What are those for? Or from? And that stallion with the red mane... He looks kind of like Caramel...

And there's Scootaloo, riding that scooter of her's like a boss! I like the call-back to Show Stoppers with Granny Smith!

Scootaloo's so cute... And she goes crazy when Rainbow Dash said she had nice moves! So adorable, though I thought for a second that Rainbow Dash was going to say "Nice moves, but not as awesome as mine!" Thank goodness she didn't... Also, is it just me, or have the cows this season acted more animalistic than in season 1 and 2? Because, I don't know, I haven't heard one speak... Not to mention, the cow here just mooed instead of saying something to Scootaloo. I dunno, it just feels weird...

So Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle are playing checkers, but with horseshoes? Like, is that how checkers is in Equestria? Horseshoes instead of checker pieces?

And here we have a new writer... "Corey Powell"... I believe Amy Keathing Rogers said something about her before, like saying she wrote for Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot, then hinting that she'll be coming to MLP soon. From what I recall, she's apparently know for writing female characters or something... I can't remember exactly. Let's see how she does on her first go; can't be any worse then Dave Polsky's or Merriweather Williams's first episode...

lol, Scootaloo wants Rainbow Dash to train her, it's adorable! And she wants to be adopted by RD! I feel like this episode is going to show that Rainbow Dash really isn't good bid sister material for Scootaloo, like Lauren Faust originally implied. Just a thought, but we'll see how it plays out.

Scootaloo flapping her little wings is the cutest thing ever... after Sweetie Belle and Fluttershy, of course.

Didn't they already do this "Sweetie Belle things Rarity will like something, cut to Rarity hating on the thing Sweetie Belle suggested" bit in Sisterhooves Social? Eh...

OH MY GOD! THAT SUPER SAD SWEETIE BELLE FACE! IT'S SO IMPOSSIBLY-wait... they used the smile *squee* here, even though she didn't smile. What? Also, it seems that Sweetie Belle is using Rarity's sisterly guilt she got from Sisterhooves Social to her advantage here... She's just so cute!

I'm sorry I keep commenting on how cute everything is, but I just can't help it!

Also, I can't help but feel there's a bit of irony to Sweetie Belle guilt-tripping Rarity into coming on this camping trip, yet she's the one having to drag Rarity's things. :P

Oh, that was brilliant. They had a subversion of the old "are we there yet?" trope; Applejack seems annoyed by Rarity constantly asking that question, but this is the first time we see her ask that, and it just so happens to be the time where yes, they ARE there!

Rainbow Dash IS pretty amazing... getting those logs and wet rocks for the fire like that...

Poor Scootaloo, that must have hurt... But, you know, she plays it out all cool, powers through the pain and whatnot... You know, I can't help but feel that this "try to appeal to Rainbow Dash and get her to adopt me" plan is doomed to fail, and make Scootaloo sad... You know, it's weird, if I hadn't read the plot synopsis, I would have assumed this would be the central conflict, instead of Scootaloo's nightmares.

You know, I like those scenes where Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo are together. Slightly awkward, but at the same time, really nice seeing Rainbow and Scoot bonding a bit, even if Rainbow Dash doesn't really see Scootaloo as anything other than a little kid or casual acquaintance... Rarity setting up her tent and Sweetie Belle getting flowers for her vase was pure gold, though!

Wow, a continuity nod. Boy, this season really tries to make it feel more connected to what's happened the last two seasons. Sonic Rainboom was an awesome episode, though.

You know, I hate when "scary stories" begin with "it happened on a night, JUST LIKE THIS ONE", like, oh geez, if it happened on a night like this, then that means whatever happened on that night will happen again now!

Oh brother...

You know, I really wish we'd actually hear the story, so we know what's so terrifying... But, I suppose it doesn't matter. All that matters is that it scares the CMC... Sweetie Belle saying "no me" is, you guessed it, really cute. :3

Aww, Rarity comforting Sweetie Belle... <3

Also, "Hit the straw"? Was "hit the hay" too obvious?

Is that Rainbow Dash's teddy bear? Also, she doesn't like other snoring, probably because she does... also, her snore animation is just like that in Read It and Weep!

So, the "Olden Pony" isn't really that scary... I bet she'd be a lot scarier if we knew the story behind her... I bet fan fic writers will fill in the blanks for us.

Again, Scootaloo's tiny wing flapping is so adorable, I like how she does it whenever she's excited or scared...

And there's Luna, from the preview... Wonder what she's doing in Scoot's dream...?

Aww, poor Scootaloo didn't get any sleep last night. Funny, too, because Rainbow Dash said she slept like a filly!

So apparently, there are multiple camping grounds, and they're going to spend a night at each one of them? Sounds like fun, hope they have enough food... Also, why is Rarity complaining about the cart being heavy when she's not even pulling it? Well, maybe she's concerned with her sister's well-being... Also, Rarity and Sweetie Belle spending time together, the idea is just so... well, you know.

Wait, why is she riding ahead again? I just watched it, and I'm not even sure why Scoot's so desperate to get there all by herself... I mean, I get she wants to get there before dark, but the whole group has to get there before they set up camp.

Oh, here comes hilarious hijinks with a sleep-depraved Scootaloo! So apparently, alligators (or crocodiles) live in rivers out in the wilderness over in Equestria. Good to know. And there's Harry, trying to enjoy a good fish. I hope Scootaloo gets her scooter back... Even though the image of her sleeping in the air and on that bush was pretty adorable... I seriously can't get over how cute this show is!

OH, so even an Earth-grown filly Pegasus can grab clouds. I don't know why they wouldn't but that's a nice thing to know. Also, clouds break apart easily. And there's the owl from May the Best Pet Win! I guess it ran away after going through Rainbow Dash's extreme games.

Sleeping in a random cave? Is it just me, or does that sound like a bad idea...? Sleep-depraved, extremely nervous Scootaloo's got the right idea, even if it's out of a fear she won't admit.

Anyone else reminded of that Spongebob episode about the Hash-Ringing Slasher? When Spongebob is nervous about going outside after dark? I got that vibe when I saw Scootaloo going after that firewood.

So, isn't it weird that Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle seem excited about hearing "the SCARY part", even though they seemed terrified before? Probably because they had their sisters comfort them, and got over those fears, unlike Scootaloo, who keeps those fears bottled up and doesn't really have anypony to talk to about them, especially Rainbow Dash.

Wait... Rainbow Dash wants Scootaloo to tell "a horrible" story? Maybe I misheard that, but it sounded like she wanted Scootaloo's story to be "horrible". I think she meant "horror", but instead, she said "horrible". So, she doesn't want Scootaloo's story to be scary, just bad. Makes sense! :P

Also, I can't help but feel Scootaloo's story is EXACTLY what the original, or at least G3 My Little Pony used to be.

Well look at that, the return of "The Headless Horse" story that Twilight told in Look Before You Sleep. I wonder if Applejack or Rarity will bring that up...

Hm, it seems after Twilight told that story, Applejack seems to be more snarky in regards to the story... The "headless, not brainless" line is pretty nonsensically funny, but I honestly would have laughed harder if she said something like this:

So apparently, this headless horse story ends differently from Twilight's... Also, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle getting scared from the fire crackle was really cute, take a shot.

Okay, Corey Powell, what the Hell? Sweetie Belle is supposed to be an absolutely gorgeous singer, so what's up with this randomly bad singing voice? Maybe she's just not familiar enough with the series yet to know that Sweetie Belle is supposed to be a good singer. Also, they got my hopes up that a song would be in this episode, instead of awful Sweetie Belle singer singing a variation of 99 Bottles of Beer on the Wall.

I thought this was going to be immediate, like they would stop Sweetie Belle from embarrassing herself... I did like Scootaloo's head-bobbing, though. :3

These nightmares are pretty creative... Also, there's Luna again, this time silhouetted, and without a head!

So it WAS Princess Luna! And she's talking to Scootaloo in her dream! AWESOME! I wish Luna talked to me in my dreams! And she apparently knows Scootaloo's name...

Wait, so... apparently it's Luna's duty to invade ponies dreams? What kind of sense does that make? Why is she obligated to enter some random pony's dream? And for that matter, what dictates which pony's dream she enters? And what for? It's not like she helped Scootaloo before when she had a nightmare. Like, this is so confusing and it makes no sense. Like I'm glad we're seeing Luna again, and that we get more insight about what she does, but honestly, this only raises more questions then it does answer!

...Still, I like seeing Luna comfort Scootaloo, and telling her what to do about her problems. She's a good princess. :)

You know, even though apparently Corey Powell missed the memo about Sweetie Belle being a good singer, she DID pick up how Scootaloo always picks up on the wrong things. From wanting to sing when she's clearly more better at dancing and choreography, to missing the whole point of what it means to earn a cutie mark, and here, where she thinks "facing your fear" means "facing the non-existent headless horse"... Even though she JUST said that's not really what she's afraid off in her dream talk with Luna. Jumping Jiminy, I like Scootaloo, but boy can she be thick sometimes!

Wow... Rainbow Dash giving off a realistic horse whinny as opposed to a snore. This show is getting more and more meta...

Also apparently Scootaloo got her scooter back... And then lost it again. No wait, her last scooter was purple, this one was blue. So I guess she just brings multiple scooters wherever she goes.

Okay, I have to admit, this is really terrifying... Poor Scootaloo fell into a ravine and is being washed away by the rapids! Her safety in a far more realistic danger is WAY scarier than any story Rainbow Dash could tell! And having her fall of the waterfall... I mean, I knew she'd be safe, becauseI knew Rainbow Dash would come... sort of... I mean, she DID have earplugs, after all, so how did she even know Scootaloo left? Like, this episode's got quite a few plotholes and inconsistencies...

Also, Scootaloo in tears when Rainbow Dash angrily asks her what she was doing out there... that's really sad! And Rainbow Dash doesn't change expression at ALL, even after it looks like Scootaloo's going to break down! I thought she'd be more understanding or receptive (or something) than that! Or maybe Rainbow Dash really needs it spelled out for her, like in The Mysterious Mare-Do-Well... Hey, maybe Corey Powell IS familiar with the show, just with the more negative aspects.

You know, I knew this situation would happen; Rainbow Dash admits she was afraid when she was filly, but tells Scootaloo to tell nopony else. Like, I knew that was the most likely outcome, but I thought it'd come off a bit differently then the way the episode did it.

Aww, Rainbow Dash literally taking Scootaloo under her wing... And hugging her, it's so... Yeah, cute.

I hope Scootaloo's parents are okay with this, if she actually has any.

Aw, seeing Rarity race with Sweetie Belle... Somehow, I just really love their relationship so much. Like they're so different, but when they do get along, it's just adorable! Also, apparently, Scootaloo still can't fly and needs Rainbow Dash to carry her... I wonder if that "handicapped" episode Lauren Faust came up with will every be made into an actual episode...

lol, that last dream was pretty funny, with the Olden Pony finally getting her rusty horseshoe... And Luna showing up for one last time!

Wait... No friendship lesson in this episode either! WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?!?!?!

So... um, okay, pretty decent episode. Can't really say it's that good, like one I'll be watching over and over again, but it's got some definite highlights. Although, I have to say, I hope Corey Powell gets more familiar with the series, and I hope the explain
Luna's "dream-entering" duties better sometime int he future...
Overall, though, a cute episode... What is that, like, the 10th time I said the word cute? Well, whatever, nice beginning, welcome to the team Corey Powell.

Oh, and by the way, all of you who play the Gameloft MLP game, could you please drop off more treasure chests in my town? I need to open them in order to complete this particular task.

Fun fact: If you wish to get all of the ponies and the shops that require gems, it would take you ten years to amass the necessary gems without actually paying.

@TomGeraci This coming weekend. Magic Duel was submitted January 27, 2011. It was originally going to be a Season 2 episode.

The Fandom didn't hit it's peak rise of popularity until March or the following Summer of 2011. Magic Duel was submitted before all that. Therefore alot of what was in Magic Duel that people complained was all pandering ended up being all a coincidence that the Fandom would come up with certain themes that show up in the episode. Meaning the episode was in concept mode at the point where the fandom hugely yet wasn't being considered yet. Trixie was going to return the way she does in Magic Duel regardless of her popularity and regardless how she was portrayed in fanmade stuff.

But I don't need gems, I need someone to drop off treasure chests in my town.

I know that, but that's just a fun fact that I felt like saying.
