He was but on the wiki it counts him as a Partner
 
Yeah but this topic is about Partners in the first Paper Mario game. Sorry if I confused you but the first game is just called Paper Mario.

Let's see... My favorite partners in the first one are Watt and Bombette, in Thousand-Year Door, it's Vivian and Flurrie, and in Super Paper Mario, I'd have to say Dashell and Boomer.

SPM partners had a bad backstory, if you even would call it a backstory. Tippi is the only one since she's a main character or something.
