I enjoyed the original live-action movie in a"So bad it's good" sort of way.

I enjoyed the original anime movie as well, though it never received a proper translation.

I think, especially seeing the fancy CGI intros to the Mario sports games, a Mario movie done entirely in 3D animation could be very cool.

If you simply regard the movie as completely disconnected to the games, it's OK.

Most Anime > 3D > Live Action > US Cartoons > Other Anime(Like Hello Kitty. <_< >_>)
