Mario Kart 7

Actually, I don't care too much for Queen Bee, but I'm just upset none of the characters I would really like to play as gets revealed (Baby Mario Bros., Toadette, etc.)

I am disappointed in you, Nintendo. Putting such an obscure character in a Mario Kart game.

And Wiggler's first playable appearance in a MK game, whoopee.
 
Well I just want Baby Luigi and I don't care who else gets added in (except for Waluigi, Toadette, and Baby Mario, they're all cool)

I still find the news of Queen Bee in the game a tad better than the news of Baby Daisy in Mario Kart Wii

Same here. Queen Bee makes way more sense than Baby Daisy.
 
Now that I think about it better... Queen Bee is a nice addition. Plus, more elements from the Galaxy series.

What pisses me off is that she took someone else's spot in the game. If she had been added ALONG WITH Lubba/E. Gadd/Waluigi/Birdo/Baby Mario/Baby Luigi/Bowser Jr./Diddy Kong/Bowser Jr./King Boo/whoever, I would actually be happy, because she isn't a bad character at all. It's just that they are making her look more important than the others and it's not like that because she's very obscure.
 
I personally have no problem with the roster. I think adding characters people wouldn't expect (e.g. not MK staples) emphasizes the novelty of the game and the overall experience (it also helps that the characters that appear to excluded are those I rarely, if ever, use).

As an aside, what's so great about Lubba? A fat, purple star's just as obscure as a fat bee monarch.

I'm glad Queen Bee made it in over, say, Baby Daisy and Toadette. I hate how she made it in over EVERYONE ELSE.

I'm still convinced that Wiggler, as awesome an enemy he/she is, doesn't really work well in a cart. You know, with all the arms and legs.
 
I think Wiggler works better on a kart than King Boo honestly.

Yeah. There's no rational way King Boo should be able to drive a cart (what's he use? the Force?).

He had a more important role in one game than the Queen Bee in the two games she appeared. He would have fit better. Actually now I doubt he'll ever make it into any other spin-offs.
 
Don't forget this is Nintendo, so it could be they didn't reveal any unlockable characters yet.
The whole MK7 launch give me some flashbacks to the MKDS launch (and hopefully, they'll also release a MK7 comic, like they did with MKDS).

So what does the greyed out characters on the official site mean?
 
Wait a minute, guys. How do we know that this is the complete roster? I think the whole "16 is the double of 8 which is the amount of racers" theory is just plain stupid. Maybe there are still more characters to see? I know only four new characters would be included, but maybe there's still chance for Waluigi and the others.

Oh, come on, of course Waluigi will be playable, they won't leave him out.
 
I don't believe in the 16 character roster crud either. I understand (although it's very painful) about excluding Baby Luigi from the game but Waluigi!?! Come on. Besides, why the heck would Nintendo reveal everything before it's released?
 
Don't forget Cups other than Mushroom and Shell Cups are grayed out as well, right?
Flower and Banana Cups never were unlockables before, although Star Cup did become an unlockable since MKDS, because of the retro tracks.

If I look back on the MKDS site, the unlockable characters were announced after the launch.
 
Well, based on those conclusion, I guess Nintendo is just not ready to release info on the greyed out racers yet, so maybe that's why they're grey. Not because they're unlockable.
