Stock up on Green Shells, Bananas, or whatever kind of defensive items you can think of. Of course, Spiny Shells are still the biggest sore thumb.

That's where the touch screen comes to play. When you're under attack, get your Green Shell or Banana ready. At least with Triple Bananas and Triple Shells, you don't have to hold any buttons.

That's pretty much the hard part. You don't want to take your eyes off the top screen during crucial moments, but at the same time, you must be aware that you can be attacked, even at the worst areas to be attacked.

Yeah I'm glad the touchscreen is there. Because for both MKDS and MK7 you can know if you're about to be attacked like if the person behind you has a red shell. Or someone got a Blue shell, so that you're prepared. I also notice in MK7 that the computers actually hold on to shells or bomb-ombs temporarily. They usually used them only like seconds after they got the item

Yeah I noticed that too. But holding on to an item is actually in the manual now, and suggested to do so against shells.
