My school has some pretty dumb rules, but no one cares or listens to them, so we don't get punished since the teachers don't care if we break them.

Yep, at our school it is the same. But I don't care... Mobile (or cell, like those Americans like to call it ) phones aren't that great. I don't phone very often.
But most pupils don't care for this rule and bring their mobile/cell phones to school...
PS: Switching between British and American English sucks!

We're not aloud to say "hush", "be quiet", and definately "shut up" in school. Only the teachers are aloud to say them.
