It is called Isshu in Japanese, and Unova in English.
 
French: Unys.
German: Einfall.
Spanish: Teselia
Italian: Unima.
Korean: Hana.
Chinese: Hé​zhòng​.
Japanese: Isshu.
All of the languages not listed here: Unova.
 
These regions don't even have a name, I thought.

And there's also a PMD3 (hint hint: WiiWare).
 
It would have to be Johto or Hoenn. Leaning towards Hoenn but voted Johto. Unovas not bad, but I havent played all of it yet, so I cant judge it all.
 
Seems like Jhoto is a majority. To add what I said: my main reason: I absolutely love every single one of the starter Pokemon. And if your talking about the Anime, the theme song is the best of the entire series.
 
I think I like Sinnoh the best.
 
Kanto is indeed very close to my heart; however, I must say that it is the Johto region that I found to be the best. It was an interesting region to explore with many vivid Pokemon and cultural sights.

Additionally, it helps that the 2nd generation Pokemon games were my favourite in the series. ;D
