The Harvest Moon games I have are:

Harvest Moon 64 (N64) - favorite
Harvest Moon 2 (GameBoy)
Harvest Moon: Friends of Mineral Town (GBA)
Harvest Moon DS (DS)
Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility (Wii) - second favorite
Harvest Moon: Animal Parade (Wii) - least favorite

I really enjoy this series. I played Harvest Moon 64 more than any other game when I was little. I hope to find the original Harvest Moon someday, but it's pretty rare so it'll be expensive.
 
I played the shit out of the N64 version when I was younger. These days I prefer Animal Crossing though.
 
I have one of the Gamecube versions, but it got boring fast. Maybe the newer ones are better, I don't know. You just do the same stuff over and over and it takes so long to finally get something, it just doesn't even feel rewarding.

It wasn't a bad game, just too slow for me. Though horse-riding was awesome.
 
Some of them are good, some of them are bad. Harvest Moon: Animal Parade is my least favorite of them, and it is one of the most recent HMs. Harvest Moon: Tree of Tranquility is one of my favorites, but it's also a recent game. The age doesn't really matter.
