Super Mario Galaxy 2.5 is under way and you can help it!
Super Mario Galaxy 2.5 is a fanmade project with the goal to expand Super Mario Galaxy 2 by adding: New Stages, Galaxies, Worlds, Music, Playable characters?, Multiplayer and more!
Using a program called "Anarchy in the Galaxy", it is possible to edit levels and change them completely. Some possible things to do are:
- Place planets/objects/enemies and even bosses from a galaxy to another. (It is not possible to create completely new planets/enemies or bosses.)
- Add custom music or import music.
- Upload Beta content left in the game
- make Planets, enemies and certain objects bigger/smaller.
- Change Backgrounds and level names.
- Import objects/levels/models from other games into SMG2.5 (Like Delfino Plaza which is mostly finished)

You can post your very own level designs and maybe they will be turned into real galaxies/levels for people to play ;)
The site also has many other features which can be seen on the site, like Ranks and Karma. There is a chat room there as well.
Please Note that the site is a clean site. No cursing, spamming or anything bad is allowed.

The finished game will of course be free to everyone, but there are some requirements for it to work.

I'm not actually an advertising user. I just advertised for that since I have an account there as well and I'm applying for job as Advertiser. The site is awesome ;) Can't wait until the project is finished! I'm going to be serious now on this site. (I have an account on the Super Mario Wiki and I have always wondered how to get to the "forum"). I found out today and since I was going to apply for advertiser on the SMG2.5 site.. I just figured that it couldn't hurt to advertise just this one time here on this site. Sorry if I did somehing wrong.....
 
It's not MY Project. I'm just a small part of it and I haven't even got a job...yet!

EDIT: I just got promoted to Advertiser Yay Me!

What Applications do you use to create this?
We from the Mario Kart CW Project use countless of tools, as level modding is not possible yet in Mario Kart DS, but it's coming, as we're already able to make Texture Hacks (original and custom), Music Hacks, Menu Hacking (?), Object Hacking, and many more (to come).
 
This looks really awesome.. Nintendo should've made this into Super Mario Galaxy 2 into the not junky and boring unlike SMG2 this one.

Like I've said before, Mario Kart CW is a hack, so it's no program.
 
Wasn't super mario galaxy 2 pretty long already? Anyway it's not a bad idea.

Usually I disagree with everyone jumping on someone for, as NSM pointed out, posting a fan creation in Fan Creations. As far as I know, that's what this board is for. I've posted a few games and I don't recall anyone calling me an advertiser.

Yeah, this is obviously an advertisement. I'm not trying to sound like a minimod or anything -- fangaming is just my area of expertise. As a fangamer, I can say there IS a HUGE difference between advertising a game and trying to show off your work.

EDIT: Or level hack. Whatever you want to call it.

I AM showing off work, but not mt Work, the PROJECT's work and I just want to interest people who love Mario. :)
BTW A demo of the game is coming out soon (riivolution is required to play)
Also to prove that we're doing good, we have imported THE ENTIRE DELFINO PLAZA IN SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2.5 (Video shows without textures, but textures are made. The full version of the plaza will come in the demo. Full plaza will have textures, piantas, correct music and it will have fruit):

 
Here's an updated, almost finished version. Now we only need to place piantas, fix the water and add fruits. The Bowser signs are there to block the "underground". By completing tasks you'll eventually unlock the underground too :):
