What type of Mario Do you like?

In that case, the OP's COMPLETELY wrong in regards to SMG2. It's a fully 3D game.

I think it's implying that 2D and 3D refer to type of platformer.

While all mainstream Mario games have been proven to be fun, I have always preferred the completely 3D Mario games for the most part. I have always loved the enjoyment of exploring and looking around the depth of the many colourful worlds from Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine.
