Frozen (Disney's The Snow Queen adaption)

Well, I FINALLY got around to seeing this movie. Now excuse me as I sing "Let it Go" for the millionth time. I swear, that song grew on me so much.

Also, I was laughing my head off when I found out Idina Menzel also played Nancy in Enchanted.
 
Finally saw it yesterday. Good movie.

I agree with the sentiment that the Troll's song was unnecessary and set a double-standard with the attempted marriage - weren't they supposed to be the love experts who taught Kristoff that insta-marriage is a bad thing? The train of Elsa's dress also seemed unnecessary, and she's such a badass you'd think she wouldn't want a big swath of gossamer fabric dragging behind her (isn't that part of why she ditched the cape?), but that's just personal taste and nit-picking: I loved everything else about her. And, after hearing my toneless brother butcher the refrain from "Let It Go" for weeks on end, it was great to finally hear the actual song in all its glory.

Anyway, I liked how there was no heavy foreshadowing that Hans was evil. Hell, they even gave his horse some character - granted, it paled in comparison to Sven, but still, it's better than nothing. And, while you could guess that Kristoff would end up as the real romantic lead by the end (what with the more central role and deeper character and the aforementioned reindeer sidekick and all that), to Disney's credit, it wasn't obvious until he gave her the hat (imho). And, even then, you're only thinking "oh, the Hans kiss just won't work" - right up until there is no kiss. And as if that wasn't a welcome enough deviation from the formula, the next kiss is averted too and it's sisterly love that saves the day. Awesome, AWESOME twist.

I personally would've rather Anna and Kristoff not kissed at all, with the cute and sweet kiss on the cheek being the only sign that they're gonna live happily ever after, but I'm weird, and I realize that's asking for things to go a bit too slow. Plus there's always Elsa for us happily single ladies to relate to anyway.
 
i think we all expected that because that's the way it was in Enchanted

although tbh i had already predicted that hans was going to turn out to be evil, so that didn't really surprise me
 
i wasn't expecting the hans twist, though i was really puzzled because i couldn't get why they were setting up kristoff with anna when hans seemed like a genuinely nice guy

the hans twist didn't surprise me TOO much, but it was refreshing. it was the act of true love that really surprised me

I actually don't remember anything about the climax of Enchanted besides the fact that the evil lady turned into a dragon and was battled on the Empire State Building (or something).

haha yeah I know this is really one-sided.

I should have probably elaborated more on the fact that Christoff was kind of meh, but I figured it wasn't too major of a complaint for me.
 
no man christof was the only reason the anna parts were enjoyable, because otherwise there would have been no one to point out why what she was doing was dumb
