I've played [not including the ones I own/owned]:

I entered the modern Nintendo world with the Wii (after a 16 year "break" from gaming), for NSMBW. Then, I got SM Galaxy 2, my first ever 3D Mario. I also bought the original SMB1 and 2J for the Virtual Console. Now, since they came out with SM 3DL; I had to get that, since it was the 3D side scrolling format game I had been waiting for for decades. Having finished that, I decided to step back and pick up on NSMW, which I used to enjoy in the Nintendo World Store, and figured I would eventually play, and had wished I could get it on the Virtual Console. Finishing up on that now (Saved the Princess already, now going back and opening up some of the special worlds I skipped).

I also have the arcade VS SMB on emulation (and had SMB2J and SMB3 also), but that seems to be a taboo subject here. Before the Virtual Console, that was the ONLY way to possibly get the original 8 bit 2J, and still the only way possible to have the Arcade version, which differs significantly from the NES version, down to the inclusion of six 2J ("Lost Level") worlds.

Back in the day, it was my brother who got the NES, and of course, the original SMB. Then, I began buying him the latest games; SMB2 [USA], SMB3, then the Super NES (Which I bought at a discount at the dept. store I worked at), and SMW, followed by the original Super Mario Kart, and finally, the first Super Mario Allstars. Then, I got married and moved out, and didn't bother to get a game system again until the Wii, for NSMBW.

All of this stuff he seemed to give away and not ge back, though (IIRC) he still might have the NES console.t

I eventually might get SMB2USA, if it is available for the DS3, because I never finished that one, as I went into the military right after I got it for my brother, and when I came home, he had lent the game away, and then SMB3 was coming out.
