No it wouldn't, in that case, there'd be no stakes in it. It's win-win, whether Proto Man or Gumesho wins. Which I guess in it of itself is awesome, I suppose...

A Kirby series character would've been better, but at least one got into the semi-finals. And Pikmin and Mother 3 are also in the Top 12. Mission accomplished.

I can come up with a good amount of people that would vote Gumshoe over Rarity and barely any that would vote the opposite direction.

I guess since "ponies can do no wrong" as I see it, I have a hard time understanding the idea that ponies can not win.

No offense Smashgoom. But I'm a big fan of FiM and even I didn't want them to win again. I wanted them to do well, which they did. (3rd Place in the Series standings is excellent considering what else was in the Top 12). But the Rainbow Dash win is enough for me at least until maybe the 3rd game. We'll see how it goes with that. It depends on what 5 are nominated next time.

But yeah.

Gamefreak think about it like this.
If rarity wins, it'll work like this.
All non bronies will vote for Gumshoe. Many bronies (such as SonicMario, Smashe, MCD and I) will also vote Gumshoe. Gumshoe will win by a landslide.
Gumshoe must prevail.

Guys, I'm pretty sure it will be a pretty great matchup for the Championship. I can honestly see it go either way.
