Every time you cut down a tree, it somehow comes back. Granted, the old tree could've dropped some seeds allowing a new tree to grow, but how does it grow so fast?!
 
What do the people eat? Pokemon eat berries and according to the Pokedex entries, other Pokemon. The anime gives them a kibble-like pet food.

It's unlikely that people would resort to eating Pokemon since the Pokemon can potentially fight back (set people on fire, electrocute them, drown them, freeze them, and even attack them mentally).

Even more disturbing is the fact the anime characters have thought about eating Pokemon (James' Gyarados) and meat (like burgers) have shown up.

Normal animals have been seen on the anime a couple of times, so...

Or everyone could just be vegetarians.
