why would you tattoo your face? it's there forever, for everyone to see

what if it suddenly becomes unfashionable, or an evil order uses it for their logo? it'll be there forever, even when you get old, when it'll get all wrinkly.
 
because I live in the present, and remember the past, but to focus your life to far in the future isn't me, besides, whats the chance I'll live to be old in my line of work

as for this evil order, I guess I'd be safe from them then *chuckles*

I see...you are Faith Connors, a Runner. You watched your mother die and your father become an alcoholic. You left your father and sister for a life of thievery on the streets, and now you run to rebel against a government which represses you. Well, I suggest you repress the ideas of rebellion that you have right now, unless you have a death wish. There is no running from me, Ms. Connors, or any of us.
 
There is no thought you can hide from me. You have...observed life here and entertained thoughts of resisting our rule, just as you resisted the rule of the leaders of the city in which you lived. I assure you that there is no need to run, and I mean you no harm, though I am not opposed to providing...discipline should it be needed. Is it needed, Ms. Connors?

it's not pretty

why would you get a permanent tattoo that will, quite frankly, drive people away

just in case you do live for a long time after this war
