Mario Party 9

Of course Nintendo is going to lose money! You think a game with "wide appeal" is going to sell more than a game with Mario characters in them?

I think that "wide appeal" translates to almost no unique characters. I would like to play a game where every character is unique from one another, not just painted blobs that physically look similar to one another, save for width, height, and color.

Just like cheap texture swaps. :P

Besides, Mario characters had PERSONALITY, something Miis lacked. Daisy screams angrily, Wario is being Wario, and, yeah you get the point.

Miis are just palette swaps. I wish they were more customizable so they won't feel like mere modified copies.

Mario Party also makes characters have sexy gameart (Toadette, Mario, Luigi, Wario), that's why I love it so much. That's also why I like any Mario spin-off so much. Anticipating new game-art is very exciting for me.

I love seeing new game art. Since Mario always get game art, I'm happy.

Well, I is mainly unhappy. Baby Luigi and Toadette don't appear too much, although Toadette's appearance in Mario Party 6,7,8 are saving graces.

That's cuz they're more so spin-off characters. :P

So that's why Mario Party 9 would be PERFECT for Baby Mario Bros.

Mario Party 9 is also perfect to be Galaxy-themed as well

Mario Party has so much potential. I can't believe Nintendo would just stop it like that. :(

Ok, Mario Party did have its unpleasant moments, but there are many moments worth recognizing.

Mario Party 9 being galaxy themed would be a bad move imo, one board, that's cool. But the WHOLE game to be based off of it wouldn't fit; it's Mario Party, not Mario Party Galaxy. :P Though the first Mario Party had lots of elements from Super Mario 64, so I wouldn't be surprised if they put elements from Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2.

Also, that article I posted, it doesn't mean the game WON'T come out, it just means right now, we really don't know if it's going to have a good chance of being made, but that's not really surprising. Mario Party 8 and Mario Party DS sold greatly (I really don't understand why Mario Party 8 did well, but Mario Party DS was great) so there's still some small hope... :P Also, on another subject... Believe it or not, I wouldn't mind if they remade Mario Party 1, 2, and 3, and put them on the 3DS or Wii or whatever.

I always loved Mario Party, even though Mario Party 8 felt rushed. What I don't like is how they suddenly cut off the series. And the Super Mario Galaxy thing was my crummy idea, but I thought it would be cool to be balling rolling and fluzzard flying.

I know it didn't say that, but the odds are definitely not in our favor as of now :(

First Mario Party was a major ***** with the Control Stick rotation mini-games. Mario Party 2 fixed that.

I know, those 3 mini-games with the control stick, were a pain in the @$$. Especially the "Tug O War", there's no point in even trying since you can't win either way.

Lol, don't worry, it's not crummy. I just don't think it would work out, but maybe Nintendo can make it work in a way I'm not seeing.

I'm so glad they didn't return the control stick ones, or all my controllers would be busted right now. I still am not a fan of rapid input button games.

The problem with your idea is that the game will not be that fun and it's more complicated. What if Wario could shoulder tackle and steal items, coins and stars from everybody he passes through? People would fight over to play as Wario, and if you give alternate colors for every character, it will be even more complicated. I like the way it was in every game, which everybody had the same abilities.

I can't believe that this topic is still alive.

I'm sure I will be apathetic towards a Mario Party 9, unless...

Nope.

I agree; all characters should have the same abilities in games. It would be pretty stupid to give people stats in Mario Party, then mini-games would need more careful choosing, since your character might not be good at that mini-game.

That wasn't her point.

Miis feel like templates with different faces. Mario characters, in contrast, have body features in them, like height, facial features, clothing, shape, etc. They also animate differently. Aesthetically, Mario characters have more identity compared to Miis.

They kind of did this with Mario Party 7 though. Only except for different stats in the mini-games, each pair of characters was given a special character orb exclusive to them.

But that concept was only present in 1 game. I guess it didn't work out.

Exactly. Sorry for the poor clarification

It's okay.
