I have only played the last two, what were both dissapointing.
MP8 is fun once in a while but when you played too much it will become boring.

It's sort of fun with other people, but single player is terrible.
Per.
Two of the kids I babysit always want to play MP8, and we've played it so much that I can't stand it anymore. But they still always want to play it. When they come to my house sometimes, I ask them if they want to play another Mario Party (especially the second one), but they usually just want to stick to MP8. I played MP5 with them once and they were complaining on how they didn't know how to play because the controller is different. The buttons are almost the same as the Wii so there's no reason that should be a problem.

You should check out slimkirby's Mario Party LPs, that is if you don't mind his childish dislike towards Peach.
Yeah, I like Slimkirby, but his type of dislike towards Peach is what makes me not really watch him.

Same here. Although he does claim to have a reason (not exactly a valid one though) he says Peach often screws over everyone else and therunawayguys have stated that good things only happen to Peach. Personally, Yoshi's the one usually screws me over whether he's a CPU or if I'm the one controlling him, but I obviously don't hate Yoshi. ;)

Exactly, I don't dislike characters cuz the AI screws me over. Daisy usually screws me in every Mario Party I play with her in (I won't be surprised if that happens when I get Mario Party 9 :P) but I definitely don't hate her, she's one of my favs. I guess some people just get mad easily. :P

Oh yeah, I happen to be one of those people sometimes. Still, sometimes its funny watching people get frustrated. Like how slim reacts near the end of this video.

Anyway, regarding MP9, I'm hoping it doesn't get old like 8. The boards looked cool, some mini-games were fun, and I liked playing as Hammer Bro., but there were just some flaws that turned me away from the game.

I would like a Super Duel Mode-esque mode to return. I liked Super Duel Mode from Mario Party 5.

Oh yes. Somebody go e-mail this to Nintendo!

If Nintendo listens, I'm going to email something about the Baby Mario Bros. playable inclusion before that, but, yeah.

I want Brighton and Twila from Mario Party 6 to return sometime....

I would have to disagree with this. They felt so uninspired. Then again, I rarely play board mode, so I probably shouldn't be complaining because it barely affects me.

Well, Mario Party 6 was the last good Mario Party before it went downhill

I actually think that Mario Party 4 was the last good game of the series. Mario Party 5 was iffy to me (the only part of it I remember is the Battle Mode with the customization), and Mario Party 6's minigames were lackluster.

Mario Party 6 IMO had pretty good minigames such as Canonball Fun, Snow Brawl, and some others. Mario Party 6 also had a great orb system, better than Mario Party 5's.

Mario Party 5 had good minigames, and the mode, Super Duel Mode, was pretty good. The capsules sucked, though, and the method of obtaining them was too random.

I always felt that Brighton and Twila looked like they came from a storybook for 3 year olds. I mean, really, the sun and the moon? The way they fight over who is better is just childish. All of MP6 felt a little bit childish to me, even when I was only 7 or 8 years old.

I think a better host would be Tumble. He fits the theme perfectly with his die head. :tumble:

I kind of prefer the Capsule system because the orbs can only be placed 5 spaces either ahead or behind you, which is limited considering you can't place orbs on ? spaces or spaces occupied by roadblock orbs.

I think the series has gone both uphill and downhill kind of like a rollercoaster.

1: down
2: up
3: down
4: down if you're doing story mode, otherwise, up
5: down when you look at the 2v2 games, otherwise, up
6: down for the boards, otherwise, up
7: kind of both
8: down

Mario Party 6 has the best board in the Mario series: Faire Square. I always liked Brighton and Twila because I can make fun of them. Speak Up mode is pretty funny, but the mic is pretty gimmicky.

That's the only disadvantage with orbs. Orbs beat capsules in every other way.
