If it runs on Windows 7, it will run on Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012.
However, if it runs on Windows 7, it won't run on Windows RT.

Game Maker works with W7, so W8 will work too.

I have Windows 8... but I wonder if it works on Mac OS X or Linux to guarantee Cross-platform hilarity PyroSoft fun!

Also I think Vista will have to be fixed before it is competent enough! Hilarity has not ensued with the obvious Vista joke.

In order to compile it for Windows RT, you need to use Visual Studio 2012 Professional, which is exactly what GameMaker doesn't use.
