Nope. Ash's Krookodile doesn't know stealth rock. What you saw was stone edge.
I thought that was stealth rock.

I saw ep 20

You can easily tell the difference between Stealth Rock and Stone Edge in that the former is not an offensive move. Paul's battle against Roark proves that.

Stealth Rock is more than useful, it's too overpowered.
That's ridiculous a single attack make some pokémons completely unusable.

I completely agree with this. I think they should nerf Stealth Rock. How is it possible a single move can define the utility of a Pokémon in battle?

Unlike Spikes, Stealth Rock does take into account type matchups. As long as your Pokemon resist the Rock-type, Stealth Rock isn't going to hamper them much. Sadly, only four Pokemon have a double resistance to Rock-type attacks.

At this point, the problem isn't necessarily Stealth Rock, but how the Pokemon can cope with Stealth Rock. Magic Bounce can send Stealth Rock right back at the attacker, and anyone who has Magic Guard is completely unaffected by entry hazards.

Still, a single move shouldn't hinder any Pokémon that much. It's unfair. If anything, I think Stealth Rock should work just like Spikes, without taking into account type match-ups.

it's not like you cant just use rapid spin to get rid of it.

It's not that big of a deal.

Stealth rock doesn't decide everything anyway, look at Volcarona and ho-oh for example.

Both have 4x weakness to rock and yet are still immensely useful.

I hate competitive battling in Pokémon. There was never supposed to be a metagame, yet there is one. In a nutshell, competitive battling consist of strategies that change once per week or two. Once a strategy has been broken, it's considered dead and everybody jumps onto the next fad strategy of the week, which makes for a very, very boring time. The main game, however, is much, much more flavoured — you'll have to build your team from scratch, too — so you cannot just approach every situation with the same strategy as you had when you approached your last situation. All of that is what I consider fun, not just jumping to the fad strategy of the week, which is stupid.

I hope Gen VI utterly destroys this.

it won't.

(although it has tried with the randomization of natures and ivs).

Although it was very inevitable, you make a turn based rpg and give it multiplayer, its only natural it will be competitive.

still doesn't change the fact that it can be incredibly annoying trying to chat with someone about your own pokemon teams and strategies, only to have some smogon jackass walk in and explain why every last decision you've made is dumb and for uneducated casual scrubs

how does that change from any other competitive hardcore player?

It's really not that big of a deal, it's not like you have to listen to a jackass, and I don't see why you'd care in the first place, it's not you're a competitive player at pokemon to begin with.

because these types of people just keep on trying to interrupt the conversation, which is always an embuggerance regardless of whether you listen to them or not.

i am not the superfuck specific person about all of that EV shit, but i like to know if the mon is powerful

I don't like competitive online battle in a lot of RPG/fighting games. I just try to avoid talking about it and ignore people if they interrupt the current conversation with competitive talk.

Although I don't mind if people talk about it, I've learnt a few things from everything I've read, but I don't enjoy the online.

Anyway, I'm kind of worried about the areas in this game being bland like Colosseum and XD had. It was overall boring to walk around at all in those games.

I just hope its not quite as linear as b/w.

Although b2/w2 improved on that a bit and improved post game though.

Although I doubt the areas will be as lackluster as the 3d games.

I just use Pokémon I like, I had a Level 100 Pikachu before my cousin evolved it when I let him play it since he left his in the car and he was too lazy to get it

You don't actually type *bleep*, you type the actual cusses and the system changes it

New eevolution?

HELL YEA BABY

THIS IS AWESOME.

Personally, I think it's going to be a Flying-type or a Normal-type.

It looks like Miltoic's color scheme btw, which leads me to assume that either Contests are returning, which means the Beauty stat will be back, or the scale from Gen V will need to be used.

I don't know, something about that large bows makes me think it will evolve via Beauty stat.

^I really liked the beauty pageant in Emerald

Looks cool.

That would make sense.

Oh, god, please no!

Evolving Feebas was the one of the worst experiences of my life.

Anyway, it already has an item for trade evolution, so they wouldn't change it.

Serebii says the type is unrevealed. Maybe it's a new type? Wishful thinking, maybe, but it would make sense to show off a new type with a new eeveelution.

There were rumors of a new 'Saint' type. But they were just rumors, that's all.

Although it doesn't look like it would fit any type other than Normal or Flying IMO.

You mean, like religion? Cause that would be kinda weird for a Pokemon game.
