Pokemon X and Pokemon Y

Looks like a more mysterious version of Cofagrigus.

I mean seriously, the ghost hand thing has already been done. And Cofagrigus did it better, because he had four.

if it doesn't evolve into a possessed suit of armour, I'm calling for a boycott

(JK, sorry if I offended someone)

gen 6 looks good, but personally I think I'll just miss the sprites so much....

uuuuuuuugh

ghost swords are so boring and cliche

they aren't even cool, they're just weird like "oh a floating sword be scared"

guys I thought the sword pokemon was hinted already way early in gen 4.

Here's a sinnoh myth possibly about it.

Veilstone's Myth (Japanese: トバリの しんわ Tobari's Myth) is about a young swordsman.

A young man, callow and foolish in
innocence, came to own a sword.
With it, he smote Pokémon, which gave
sustenance, with carefree abandon.
Those not taken as food, he
discarded, with no afterthought.
The following year, no Pokémon
appeared. Larders grew bare.
The young man, seeking the missing
Pokémon, journeyed afar.
Long did he search. And far and wide,
too, until one he did find.
Asked he, "Why do you hide?"
To which the Pokémon replied...
"If you bear your sword to bring
harm upon us, with claws and
fangs, we will exact a toll.
"From your kind we will take our
toll, for it must be done.
"Done it must be to guard ourselves
and for it, I apologize."
To the skies, the young man shouted
his dismay.
"In having found the sword, I have
lost so much.
"Gorged with power, I grew blind
to Pokémon being alive.
"I will never fall savage again.
This sword I denounce and forsake.
"I plead for forgiveness,
for I was but a fool."
So saying, the young man hurled the
sword to the ground, snapping it.
Seeing this, the Pokémon disappeared
to a place beyond seeing...

I thought that was about a guy killing Pokemon and learned of his mistake and decided not to draw his sword unto them anymore.

At least....that's what I got out of it.

yeah but remember again.

Wasn't that one pokemon in gen 5 had spirit of people. it was the pre evo of cofagrigus or something

anyway I think the sword might possibly have the spirit of slain pokemon that's why would explain why it'd be haunted.

it's that or the spirit of the swordman.

yeah yamask.

I really hope Honedge has Levitate as its ability.

Also, I'm going to guess that it has a higher attack stat than Special Attack stat. Same for Defense vs Special Defense.

Honedge is going to inspire so many more Pokemon conspiracy theories about some kind of Pokemon/human war. Just like Lt. Surge.

:P

and I thought that kind of did happen, although so long ago its only referenced in back stories of some legendary poke'mon (Ho-oh if I recall correctly in particular)

This thing looks like it might have levitate.

That's four immunities.

Normal, Fighting, Poison, and Ground.

And with the typing, it's only weak to fire (and ground if it doesn't have levitation).

Foresight, Odor Sleuth, and any Pokemon who has the Scrappy ability can also give it an additional Fighting-type weakness.

well, if it doesn't evolve it might have better stats then if it did (not counting the stats of its future evolutions)

If Honedge evolved, I could completely see a ghost knight wielding a possessed sword.

I don't remember this in the fourth generation, did I miss something?

I know that there are items/moves/abilities that can make it like that, but I'm saying that under normal battle conditions, it is one of the few steel type combos that has fighting not super effective on it.

I really do hope that they let it evolve.

It was in one of the random books in the Canalave Library, so that's probably why you never saw it. That place was entirely pointless.
