Nah. Sakurai has said that if he did alternate costumes, they would have to be of the same character. So Outset Link would be okay for Toon Link, but Shadow would not work for Sonic.

I knew that, but that's not officially made by Nintendo, and I can't get it anyway because any time I try to homebrew my Wii even for simple Mario Kart item hacks I only get a freeze and have to reset. So mods and anything of the sort is out of the question for me, sadly.

You don't need homebrew for Project M. All you need is a Wii, a copy of Brawl, and a 2GB or less SD Card.
