Also take in account the fact that you can no longer store an item while you already have one, and the fact that the coin is the most common 1st-place item now, which doesn't do crap when red shells and spiny shells are after your ass.

And I love this actually. I always thought that was how you got 3-Star rankings anyways (Getting 1st on every race).

Good, I don't know what hidden bullshit criteria they used in past MK games for 3-star ratings, but it's great that it's easier now.

I'm more bothered about the aliasing, something I really couldn't notice in trailers so far. Meh, it's probably an effect of upscaling it to full hd.

But yeah, I think it sucks too. I hate not being able to have two green shells/bananas in reserve

It's to nerf first place. Remember how first place was basically impenetrable in Mario Kart 7, with only the Spiny Shell?

I for one thing that this item system change is definitely for the better.

I mean, it's no fun if you're going to be able to get 3-Stars so easily without a fight, right? And I don't see why everyone is complaining, since they made other changes besides that. Does everyone forget that you have a chance to get the sound box, which stops Blue Shells instantly? And the fact that the blue shell appears less often now? When I was playing at the demo, there were no blue shells, and I even got a sound box on both of the tracks, so it's not like you have to worry about getting the coin EVERY time.

And besides, I won't notice that much of a difference. As soon as I get an item, I usually chuck it right behind me. I'm one of those players that love to set Bananas and stuff RIGHT at the launch pads and stuff. It's very effective if you think about it.

But yeah, the coins will be annoying, but at the same time, I hated playing a race in MK7 and trying to keep 10 coins, and then some stupid blue shell comes and you lose a lot of coins, and of course it's on the final lap towards the end. So at least it'll be easier to keep the coins you get, and the fact that you can earn more coins in Vs. mode and stuff with fellow players, so unlocking stuff will be 6x easier than it was in MK7.

Good thing I recognized them....

1 is Baby Rosalina, 2 is Baby Peach, third is Baby Daisy

The hairstyle is different. I noticed that Baby Daisy has only one strand of hair poking out while the rest have two. Baby Rosalina also has that bang....something worth noticing, which makes her hair bigger than Baby Peach's. Baby Peach also has hair poking out of the back of her head, a notable difference too.

Baby Mario and Baby Luigi aren't easy to tell apart either if you don't look at the letter of their caps

Their faces look identical. Their pacifiers look identical. Their ears look identical. The size of their crowns look identical.
