Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Re: Mario Kart 8

I was expecting a video in motion

Man was I disappointed when it was just a still frame

Re: Mario Kart 8

I wonder if there will be another Dry Bowser oriented level.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I could see that happening

But then again, maybe not. Cat Peach and Tanooki Mario didn't receive any special level.

Re: Mario Kart 8

Hard to say. I'm sure there will be some surprises in store.

I would usually say this is extremely dumb, but Bone Dry Dunes is so bad that Dry Bowser deserves something else to call his home.
Bone Dry Dunes is the best level in the game though.

Why?

Re: Mario Kart 8

Lots of drifting, not required to go anti-grav, nice visuals, sweet track design. It's the track I enjoy every time I play it because it hits a balance between simple and demanding. I actually feel like I'm going fast unlike most of the other tracks and being able to take every turn tightly and perfectly hypes me up.

It's actually sorta the worst, because the FUN anti-gravity is hard to get to, the visuals are ugly, the track is poorly designed (most notably the high road), and most of all, THE MUSIC SUCKS. Not only that, but I always feel like I'm going slower on this track.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I personally don't like Bone-Dry Dunes. Not a particularly impressive desert track. Desert tracks aren't really fun to race on anyway with the exception of Sunset Wilds, Yoshi Desert, and Shy Guy Bazaar

Did you just say the opposite of everything I said lol.
Actually, I think that MegaMars is in the right here. The track's one of the lower tracks on the aesthetics scale, the track feels slow, the shortcut in the cave is so hard for me to nail, and track overall just feels pretty weak in a game with tracks like the Electrodome, Mount Wario, Bowser's Castle, Cloudtop Cruise, Shy Guy Falls, Thwomp Ruins, and others.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I like Bone-Dry-Dunes pretty much because of all the reasons Crackin said. Especially the drifting part. You see, I'm a HUGE drifter. In fact it's odd for me to take a single turn without drifting. I'm always pulling off super tight drifts and Bone-Dry-Dunes supports this for me.

On a side note online, usually I'm the one ass that picks it because I like it and when it actually picks mine in this case, I feel kind of like the other players want to shoot me

I am also a huge drifter (I literally cannot make a turn without drifting) and the drifting is the only good thing about the course.

Re: Mario Kart 8

While Bone Dry Ruins is one of my least favorite courses in Mario Kart 8, just because desert courses in general tend to be on the bottom side of my lists, one thing it definitely isn't is slow - unless you're caught in the sand off-road. It doesn't seem to have a lot of traction so it makes it actually feel faster.

It feels slower for me. Also, physics agrees with me too (at least for the acceleration part).

Re: Mario Kart 8

The best part of Bone Dry Dunes is the wandering Dry Bones. <3

So I'm actually going to try to avoid info on the next DLC pack. I know I'm obviously going to unwillingly see some track names and maybe images, but i'm not going to look at any footage until it comes out. I want to be surprised.

Re: Mario Kart 8

Take a break on the internet then. That would be the best way to avoid content.

Re: Mario Kart 8

Thought I just saw something that might have 2 of the retro tracks for the next. Can't confirm.

GCN Baby Park & 3DS Neo Bowser City

Re: Mario Kart 8

That is highly likely to be fake as discussed long ago.

Anyone can write a plain .txt file filled with track names.

Re: Mario Kart 8

Oh not Baby Park again, please. That track only worked because Double Dash was madness made into a game. In DS it was so boring. Besides, there's no Bowser Shell to cause some havoc around anymore.

I read the other day that Nintendo is in the final stages of development for the DLC pack. Hopefully the chosen tracks this time around will make it worth it, since to me, none of the characters are.
