Mario Kart 8 / Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Re: Mario Kart 8

Must be great fun for you with :wario:, :waluigi:, and :dk:. Maybe :yoshi: too.

Re: Mario Kart 8

It's usually Mario et Luigi, Baby Mario et Baby Luigi, Waluigi et Wario and I think Donkey et Diddy or Toad et Toadette. I forget the last pair.

Re: Mario Kart 8

GameXplain has Bob-Omb Blast footage up. Sadly you don't hold a massive stack of bombs anymore like in DD, but you can still hold multiple. There's just a x3 or whatever by the item icon.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I want to see how many times "You hit Wario" will pop up in our game.

Poor Waluigi. I don't think Wario would taste very good.
We usually let Wario on the back because he'd otherwise stink up the car seat.

Yeah, that's a disappointment. I don't think we're going to relive the Tilt-A-Kart craze.

Re: Mario Kart 8

The stacking was a nice touch in Double Dash. I believe the guy said in the Treehouse stream you can have up to 10 Bomb-ombs.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I'd feel sorry for the car then.

Re: Mario Kart 8

Also, both villagers can appear at the same time as COM players in Grand Prix and Battle now!

Re: Mario Kart 8

They always could.

Do you mean simultaneously?

Re: Mario Kart 8

I wish they would add more Villager costumes like they have different colors for the Inklings. I really do not like the Villager Boy's look.

Yes I mean simultaneously.

Also, there's much more variety in the cars which computers pick now.

So yeah. It still functions like DD, the visuals are just different. It also uses ballooons for HP instead of those stars.

Well I'll definitely hate that. It would make choosing Wario as a CPU more difficult.

A fix is to let us choose the opponent characters.

It's still crap compared to Mario Kart 7. It's simply Nintendo arbitrarily deciding which vehicles that "fits" characters. The Mario Kart World didn't end when we saw characters like Luigi driving the Barrel Train.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I never bought the DLC for 8 and I am contemplating just trading in the wii u version of 8 when I get this. Do you think this is a good idea?

Re: Mario Kart 8

Your Wii U's disc drive may kick the bucket some day though. Based on my past experiences with systems that use game cards and/or cartridges, they seem to last far longer than systems that use CDs, DVDs, or Blu-Ray discs.

Funny. I have my Melee disc since 2002.

Still working nicely.

It's not the disc that I'm talking about. I'm referring to the system that reads the game discs. I actually had to replace my first GameCube system, due to the disc drive dying off.

Re: Mario Kart 8

I just realised that the icon for battle mode in Deluxe is has a shine Sprite on it instead of just being a balloon.

Shine runner is back? It would explain the battle mode without balloons.

Still really wondering what is going on in this image. I even noticed the top of the crown has a Shine Sprite.

We saw Ludwig riding a BIDDYBUGGY! With Roller Wheels! And Isabelle with a Sports Coupe!
