You know, you always try to compare everything to Sypro, even though these two games have very little to compare, especially since these are two completely different companies as well. -_-

Different companies don't matter at all. In fact, you should compare games that are made by different companies. I mean, it is objective that Rayman Legends is better than New Super Mario Bros. U. It's more like you shouldn't compare different genres.

NSMBU its a casual-friendly platform who anybody can play and has more difficult levels and extras for pro-gamers and serves as a Final Exam for casual audiences.

Rayman Legends its a Sequel of a very good game that its target to more skilled gamers but unlike Origins it has casual-friendly featuring things for less skiller players as Murphy (in WiiU version at least) no lives and....checkpoint in boss battles (ugh i really hate that)

Mario will be always target for everyone and today´s world kids aren´t exactly the "open sandbox explore/collect-a-thon" types (see WayFoward comment in beta kids testers in Ducktales Remastered), so a more linear platform is more adecuate to todays market.

Super Mario 3D Wolrd unlike 3D Land, its a console game, 3D Land was short and easy to compete with smartphone´s short-levels games and make the younger audiencie enter to 3D Mario Games (my young cousins didn´t like Mario Galaxy 1 or 2 becuase they were confusing and hard games, but they liked 3D Land), so 3D World should be bigger and lager not only because its a console game but because you had 4 characters in screen at same time.

Nintendo want a Mario 3D game that can be a entry game for all gamers and its the very first time that Nintendo do a 4 multiplayer 3D Mario game so the 3D Land structure its perfect, a linear platform with a lot of room for 4 players.

I can see why people want a more open Mario 3D Game and both Mr. Miyamoto and Koizumi knows that so we shouldn´t be worried right now, give Super Mario 3D World one chance, after all, we haven´t seen any new trailer, screens, artwork (aside the boxart) since E3, so we need to see more trailers, screens and more to begins critizing this game.

Sorry for the bad english

Besides if you want something more hardcore and difficult then go for Donkey Kong instead.

Exactly.

Spyro was just so much more, could you say, developed, than 3D Mario games.

New things were actually introduced each game (no, one cat bell power doesn't count, NEITHER does multiplayer.)

Spyro had amazing orb challenges, bosses, beautiful land scapes, controls, and the who shebang.

I'm sorry, but it's just annoying when people are like (OMG, SMB2 best game ever) when they've only experienced half the picture. 3D World especially doesn't offer anything new to the picture at all (Sunshine had FLUDD, Galaxy had Gravity, 3D Land and 3D World, had NOTHING)

Me, I'll probably be picking up Tropical Freeze and Mario Party instead. Pick this up later for something cheap.

^But Super Mario Bros. 2 is underrated, I've never heard anyone say that.

I think you meant to say Galaxy 2

(btw seeing people say Galaxy 2 is more awful than critics think is such a breath of fresh air here)

BLOF, could you explain why you hate galaxy 2?

Not again....

I hate it because it's literally the same ----ing game. No improvements, no new game-changing mechanics, nothing. It's a ----ing waste of my money.

I could go into way more detail but I'm sick how Super Mario Galaxy 2 is being touted as the best 3D Mario platformer when that title belongs to Super Mario 64 DS

Well, there was the new Yoshi mechanic, which provided new gameplay strategies, including the use of berries. Although another person's opinion is such a non-factual sturdily built thing which is difficult to reach a single verdict on, I'm merely stating how your opinion could be wrong, not why it's wrong nyek nyek.

*snorts* it's used in like, what, 5% of the game? For me, they added Yoshi....whoop-dee-doo thanks a lot, that'll surely make the game unique to the other games in the series. It's like saying New Super Mario Bros. U added the Flying Squirrel and that is supposed to be the central game mechanic. At least New Super Mario Bros. U did something that made it stand out with the other games in the series (the use of the Game Pad) when even that game is still pretty mediocre. Super Mario Galaxy 2 didn't do squat except add a power-up that used so little that you'll forget Yoshi existed in Galaxy 2 if they didn't slap him all over the place and advertise him like crazy. It feels like Yoshi's implementation is purely for fanservice reasons.

Besides, the berry power-ups sucked anyway.

BTW, before you go arguing how Super Mario 64 DS is exactly the same game as Super Mario 64, its intended purpose was a REMAKE. Super Mario Galaxy 2 tried to be a good sequel. It failed.

As I mean, let's rant about it all day.

I can when I want to. But it really sucks to be the minority opinion. Why do I feel like Super Mario Galaxy 2 is the same freaking game that is a thinly veiled cash grab while the critics praise and tout it as the best platformer ever?

However I will like Super Mario 3D World. The multiplayer is an automatic selling point for me. Unless Rayman comes with a multiplayer 3d platformer.....

It's fun though :D ... I thought it wasn't really a waste of money, some of the ideas used in the new galaxies were neat and I enjoyed it more than Galaxy 1. But I guess that's where we differ. You're basing your hate on its little new content and lack of improvements or changes while I'm basing my reasons for liking it on how much I enjoyed it personally. I does suffer from a lack of improvements and changes, that's something I can agree on.

Actually, the only improvement I will note is the Co-Star mode but that's not saying much since hackers have found a way to make a true 2 player mode in the Galaxy games.

I'm sorry guys. But the differences here are huge. Galaxy basically sucks compared to the beautiful gameplay of this game.

Sure Galaxy is great an all, but IMO, all the 3D Mario games after Sunshine have felt so linear and boring.

^I'm totally going to watch the Spyro speed run.

Anyways, I've said it before, but Super Mario World is my favorite game of all time, so if they are going to make this into some sort of remake, this has the potential to being one of the best games on the systems it's on. I'm assuming it's the Wii U right? Anyways, that's just how I view it.

Super Mario 3D World and Super Mario World have nearly no relation, same way Super Mario 3D Land didn't relate to Super Mario Land.

I get why you like Spyro more than Galaxy but honestly these games are different and have their ups and downs

I've never played Spyro 2 but if I ever get the choice, I might.

I don't consider the "3D Land/World" sidescrollers as being the same subseries as the 64/Sunshine/Galaxy 3D platformers. They're more like the 2D sidescrollers (now represented by NSMB), but in 3D. A third, hybrid subseries, in other words - one that I think has its own merits and downsides, just like the other two types of main series games.

I agree, just gotta say. It seems like it would've been more appropriate as DLC or an expansion pack for SMG, rather than a separate, fully priced game. Also, Rosalina and the Comet Observatory were way more interesting than Lubba and a giant Mario head, imho. That is all.

This.
Also Spyro 2 is a lot better than SMG2. Most of the game is pretty fun and it has likeable characters. I had some frustration in SMG2 and the characters are pretty boring. The first game was better. Still I liked quite a lot of the galaxies and bosses.

Spyro was great in early years, what about today? Spyro is now in skylanders and that's it and no new games about him. But now, Mario is on a rise of more and more new platformer and Spyro is trapped in skylanders. So only way to play it is to get Playstation 3/4 and download it for play in 1080p HD.

I'm getting SM3W on the first day

Wii cannot run DLC compared to Wii U that can run DLC with NSLU.

Psst, don't even mention Skylanders to New Super Mario

Why not? His favorite character is in it

Here a cool pic,

We can make a new thread about this so we will not be offtopic
