My favorite was the Battlerock theme.
 
I always liked the underwater and underground music in smb and smw series~

Are we allowed to talk about donkey kong here? DKC's ice themed musics were the most amazing

I agree with you Cactus. Mario has always had catchy music that makes playing Mario games fun. I do love Shy Guy Beach on Mario Kart for the GBA. Also Rainbow Road for Double Dash is pretty fantastic.

In my opinion, the best music so far has to be from both the Super Mario Galaxy installments and some musical scores from the NSMBW and NSMBU scores.

The best song of NSMBU is probably that dark remix of Peach's Castle.

Slightly off topic, but I'm trying to find that said song so that I can do a Super Nintendo music style arrangement of it. Most of you know that if Peach is involved in the process, and since I'm a dedicated fan of this lead Mario female, I've got to get after this (which means, yes, this is on my target list! :P).

^ I've got that one, but what I'm referring to is the "final stage" music (as in, the final level before the last two battles for NSMBU); it's also a "dark remix" of the Peach's Castle music.
 
SM64. Piranha Plant's Lullaby is so lovely, and the piano version is even better.

Though, one of my personal faves comes from Strikers Charged. Petey's Theme. So bouncy and happy.
