Mario and Luigi: Dream Team

I admit that it did feel satisfying when I finally beat them but I wish they had kept them the same as the ones in Bowser's Inside Story. I loved blowing into the microphone. :)

Both games had at least one giant battle that caused controversy.

Didn't know the motion controls are this.. offputting. I would hate fake difficulty like that.

I despise blowing into the microphone like gum on the back of my shoe. The Fawful Express was a boss I dreaded whenever I did a run of the game.

The motion controls this game has didn't cause me any problems until a second run of the game, and were fixed by nothing in particular after another 20 attempts at the boss. Very frustrating, but better than the microphone trouble I had.

Well, the problem was that the motion controls would sometimes recallibrate, especially in the Zeekeeper battle as you ram him (probably if you keep on tilting it each time thinking you would move back at him faster). That's mostly why I can't do the boss rush mode is that I verse the Zeekeeper and then my motion controls go out the window and when I get to Giant Bowser's final part, Luigi just goes straight into the Lava until he dies because the motion controls won't listen to me.

However, that has happened only once or twice (sorry to make it sound like it has happened more than once; I suck at the Giant Battles a bit because of taking too much damage in the Zeekeeper battle or me just getting irritated in the boss rush mode). Usually the motion controls work completely fine, and they work with ease.

And yes, I agree; I hate the microphone and the Fawful Express battle. You literally have to turn off the fans so that it doesn't affect it, or if you are playing on the 3DS, you cannot use your headphone jack! I'm not kidding; I played BiS again on the 3DS not that long ago and the fire breathing wouldn't work until I figured out I had to unplug my headphones in order for it to work. A bunch of bs is what that is.

But yeah, back to motion controls...they aren't bad, and only once in awhile screws you over (which is like very rare), but I do believe that Nintendo should have seen this coming a bit and made the game not so reliant of the giant battles to have a lot of motion controls. Like; I know that in some of the battles it was just obnxious to have to deal with.

@Pyro's Shroom review, judging by that, you don't seem to like very long games, I do agree with some of the points you made there.

We seem to be very odd here,
NSY: Not very high expectations = really liked it for the most part (expect those fucking tutorials),
Pyro: really high expectations = didn't like very much

To be honest the only three things I disked about this game was, the sluggish start, the Gyro problems and the plot was anything special.

I will fully admit that BiS was a better game in terms of story and epicness but Dream's Team gameplay is so much better. This game is defiantly not one to skip for Mario RPG fans.

its long?

all i heard is its like 40 hours long which is kind of standard for the common rpg.

(although smt kinda goes against this as most of the games are much longer than 40 hours).

If this is on average 40 hours, I guarantee it'll take me much longer than that were I to play this.

(i always take longer on first playthroughs; TotA was 102 hours)

Hm, I hated the tutorials.

"Hey, that's a mushroom! Luigi, wanna learn how to use it?

Are you sure? Mushrooms can be tricky."

Yes, Starlow. TALKTALKTALK.

Something I find stupid is how it give you the tutorials again on hard mode but you would already know what to do from the first time.

Teeth-gnashing. You want to bite Starlow and Dreambert.

Don't worry Yoshidude and everyone else because I added this woman to help you get though the tutorials:

In my honest opinion I think they should have been a choice to turn of the tutorials so newcomers can learn the basics while experts can could just play.

Yes. Like, why does nearly all of the tuto guys (Dreambert, your Zelda sword-thingy woman, Starlow, Navi) have to be so boring? They didn't even get rid of them in Hard Mode!

DO NOT MAKE FUN OF FI!

And hey, Midna was not a boring guide, now was she?

And I think the tutorial stuff is overrated because it's not like they force you to sit through them (some yes, but not the majority of them). So is it really a complaint to just hit no twice when they ask you if you want a reminder?

Is that the Skyward Sword guide? Well at least I could listen to him/her I suppose.

Polar opposite of Ghirahim, although shares some traits (sword-transforming). But yes. Midna was no so bad, and at least it doesn't drag on for hours. STARLOW, however...

"Overrated"? You probably meant a different word.

Well, I don't like the insistent nagging and pointing out something I'll figure out in a few seconds. I think those tutorials are to make up for the crappy instruction "booklets", lol.

but even with the tutorial spamming the game is still one of the better mario rpgs right?

I mean i keep hearing its pretty good, and im really wanting a mario rpg, which ill probably get on my next paycheck.

It is the better of the Mario RPGs. It didn't fail to impress me.

They had tutorials for the booklet-era games too.

But man, I do miss actual instruction booklets, with the art and flavour text and whatnot... It's just nice to have something tangible in your hands, y'know?

I said the wrong word indeed. :P

I think I meant to say "over-complained", though I completely agree that there should be an on/off switch for them.

Oh, I know that, Walkazo. I was half-joking, hence the lol.

I do wholly agree with you, though. I like the smell, the paper, the detail, and the color. Plus, they had interesting bios. But I digress, I rather have "tree-wasting" instruction booklets over digital instructions and these stupid nagging tutorials any time of the week.

I prefer those booklets they used to include with the game you bought more than anything else. Now we get STARLOW, that keeps boring us. AND she appears in 2 games. At least the Suitcase from PiT had a use, and didn't slow the game.

BACK TO ADVENTURE

The Suitcase guy was pretty neat honestly. I didn't mind it when he popped up (aside from the very first few tutorials, I don't remember it being annoying)
