I totally agree that's ridiculous. If they're making the Year of the Luigi, they should promote it, not push it. Right now, they're definitely pushing it. I hate it how they're pushing it this far without any major Baby Luigi thing whatsoever.
I mean if it was really the Year of the Luigi, they would have made a Yoshi's Island game where the damsel in distress was the star.

By the way, I just re-watched the trailer and noticed some things:
-Wario's ball is yellow, and Bowser's ball is black (I already mentioned this one earlier).
-Wario's ball and Waluigi's ball leave a rainbow trail when hit. Shouldn't that "animation" be exclusive to Yoshi? Rainbows definitely do NOT fit Wario and Waluigi.
And, the one that makes me happy the most...
-THE CELEBRATION ANIMATIONS AREN'T AWKWARD ANYMORE!!!! I hated that in Toadstool Tour the characters just made some short dance and then stood there watching the camera awkwardly (see Peach and Koopa for example). These new animations seem more euphoric, like Mario Golf 64's. Also, this game's music seems more upbeat and you can feel there actually is crowd watching you play like in Mario Golf 64, and unlike Toadstool Tour.

It's not even a mode you guys. He just said that you can even make it so that you can only play as Luigi in tournaments based on whatever rule you set online. Gosh.

You're forgetting that at least in the case of Daisy, they haven't forgotten about that in general. But honestly, I don't mind Daisy's dress outfit in the Mario Golf: World Tour game; makes sense like this. And besides, in terms of the "shorts" aspect, at least the developers know that she'd have to wear that outfit type again for sports which require a lot of action (same goes for Peach).

I assume they added that feature so people can "ban" certain characters from playing if they deem it unfair (i.e. Power characters).

I think Peach's animation is a nod to Mario Golf's 64 animation for when she scored a Hole-In-One/Albatross/Eagle, where she would jump around and her mini-skirt would "grow" to her normal skirt.
Now, if she's so euphoric this time around for scoring a mere Birdie, I can't imagine what she'll do when she scores a Hole-In-One/Albatross/Eagle :|

Are you referring to in regards to when they get their respective trophies? Because in the case of Mario Tennis Open, I definitely agree. I was hoping the ceremonies would be like Mario Power Tennis' trophy ceremonies in a way.
Also,
there is no way that any other ceremony can beat Peach's. I mean, Peach kissing her trophy = best moment. Period.

We have never really seen Rosalina actually run. We've seen her slowly walk in short scenes, but for the most part she's immobile. In Kart, it works for her because you never see her walk, you just see her do tricks here and there.
With Baseball and Tennis, you have to actually see her run and slide for the ball and jump to make a dunk, and we have not seen any animations of her in her own appearances of being able to pull of that stuff.
With Golf though, you just stand there and swing, and with Mario Golf, they just go from one swing to another without any break. So if he's referring to something like that, I could see why he would say it. Plus, I too would love to see Rosalina in this game. I feel like Nintendo has been making her appear more and more since her debuts.
