and on chapter 15 there's a guy holding one, i think you have to steal it from him though

this is kind of a dumb question, but how do i do that?
You have to move up to him with a Rogue or Thief (basically, only Rennac or Colm if he's unpromoted or promoted to Rogue) and there should be a Steal option in your menu that usually says Attack, Item, etc. You can then steal his item.

oh ok. i didn't really know because i don't use colm much

I never bothered play past the part Carckin got up to.

so i've promoted artur and lute now, and ewan is almost level 20.

also cormag is about to level up to 20 as well, what should i promote him to?

I've promoted him to a Wyvern Knight, and he's pretty damn awesome.

Just remember to give him the Fili shield that you got from Valter.

He's good either way, really.

With Wyvern Knight, you get +3 speed than you would with a Wyvern Lord, and you get the Pierce skill.

With Wyvern Lord, you get the ability to use Swords.

I've always personally preferred Lord because enemies are slow as all hell and having swords is nice, but it's up to you.

Also, take into consideration that Cormag is the only unit (excluding bonus characters who the majority are terrible) that is able to promote into a Wyvern Lord. Tana/Vanessa can still promote to Wyvern Knights.

ok so i promoted cormag to wyvern lord

i'll start training tana so she can be a wyvern knight

also i just got the master seal, i'm thinking of using it on ephraim, but i just want to double check if that's a good idea or if i should use it for someone else?

(Iirc), bad idea, I think you'll get an item later on in the story that let's him promote.

Neimi? IIRC you can only get one promotion item for archers throughout the game (excluding the use of secret shops), and that's by saving the villagers in chapter 6.
I'm not 100% sure about this, so maybe Javs or '3K can comment on it.

Oh, yes, I can see that being a bit of a problem...

What's your current team like?

The characters that i use in most of the chapters are:
Ephraim, who is a level 20 Lord
Natasha, who is a level 9 (almost 10) Cleric
Joshua, who is a level 1 Swordmaster
Ewan, who is a level 2 Druid
Artur, who is a level 6 Bishop
L'Arachel, who is a level 5 Troubadour
Tethys, who is a level 5 Dancer
Cormag, who is a level 1 Wyvern Lord
Lute, who is a level 4 Sage
Franz, who is a level 2 Paladin
Ross, who is a level 5 Berserker
Amelia, who is a level 2 General

and then there are the ones i haven't used as much:
Rennac, who is a level 1 Rouge
Colm, who is a level 9 (almost 10) Thief
Tana, who is a level 13 Pegasus Knight
Forde, who is a level 11 Cavalier
Dozla, who is a level 1 Berserker
Duessel, who is a level 9 Great Knight
Garcia, who is a level 13 Fighter
Kyle, who is a level 7 Cavalier
Seth, who is a level 6 Paladin
Eirika, who is a level 12 Lord
Vanessa, who is a level 2 Pegasus Knight
Gilliam, who is a level 2 Knight
Marisa, who is a level 6 Myrmidon
Gerik, who is a level 12 Mercenary
Knoll, who is a level 10 Shaman
Innes, who is a level 3 Sniper
Saleh, who is a level 4 Sage

As far as I know, you can't promote Ephraim with the Master Seal. You have to wait until you retake Renais Castle, where you can promote them in the treasure room. You don't even have to be over level 10 to promote them both.

If it was up to me, I'd use units like Rennac when it comes to chests. They don't need any sort of Lockpick or keys to open chests, since they have the Pick skill. He's a pretty awesome unit to use in indoor levels, if you ask me.

Knoll can be promoted to a Summoner, which is also quite useful if you want to lure enemies out to you. When I first got Knoll, he was a bit too easy to hit, even when he reached level 20, but he's still pretty handy to have around.

I would have suggested Moulder, since he has pretty good stats once you level him up fully, but by the looks of it, he must have died. You don't need him anyway, if you have artur, but I just find it easier with two bishops on my team. Three, if you count riev (who I got during the creature campaign)

Dozla, Innes, Saleh and Gilliam would have been my final suggestions, but it looks like you don't need them, looking at your final list. It's a good list, you'll find it quite helpful during the final levels.

I need to level up some of my characters, mainly the weaker ones such as Lute, Ewan, Eirika and Amelia. I'll try going through the Tower of Valni and Lagdou Ruins with each character, and, by earning a bit more money in the levels, getting loads of stat boosting items. Last night I got to floor 8 of Lagdou ruins, before Cormag was killed. I was royally pissed.

Yeah, that's the only Orion's Bolt I ever obtained without the secret shop. You could always use the Master Seal, but it's actually pointless - if you get the Silver Card on chapter 15, you can sell the Master Seal for 10000 and buy two promotion items each for 5000.

keep in mind that rennac is awful at battling tho

except at killing thieves who are literally the weakest class in the game

he has the worst luck in the entire game, but his summons are good.

Moulder's only notable traits are his high HP and his high Constitution. He's okay at battling, but he's only really good if you give him the heavier tomes that other magic users won'tbe able to wield as well like Aura.

Lagdou isn't too difficult once you get the hang of it.

All those Draco Zombies though. Make sure to bring your legendary weapons to the final floor.

So, like Path of Radiance, since I'm almost finished with Awakening, I'll be picking this back up again. Can't wait! On a new file, and I'll try to get farther this time since I know more about the game now.

so, uhh, what should i do with my master seal then?
Personally, I'd train Kyle and/or Forde and promote them to Great Knights. Forde is a little quicker and more apt to dodge attacks while Kyle is the tankier of the two. Or work on Gerik because he makes a rad Hero. Or Gilliam because he turns into an awesome tank as a General. I also like Garcia as a Warrior.

You should definitely look into using these four. All-around great units.

Kyle is probably the least amazing of those three, followed by Marisa. Tana and Gerik though are just all-around amazing.

Stuck on chapter 10 on Ephraims route, it is so annoying. You have to do 3 things at once ;-;
What?

Just move everyone towards Duessel. You can defend from troops to the north and the south from that position, and recruit Cormag when he gets close enough from there.

It's kinda hard to kill the boss and get whatever he drops if you do this but that's not as important as recruiting Cormag.
