Greatest Mario Kart?

Double Dash, Wii and 7.

Double Dash would have been perfect if it had the drifting mechanic of the newer games. I think it ties with 7 right now.

Here Mariotime11, I found an jetpack for you to use.

Mario kart 7 was great, wii was not all that great but still kindof fun.

  • Wii
  • 64
  • 7
  • DS
  • Arcade
  • Double Dash
  • Super Circuit
  • SNES
MK64 was the first Mario Kart I played (though I kept losing because I was used to an NES controller by then) and the first time I played MKW I was hooked, and is the game that made be buy a Wii.

On the other hand MKDS was my first Mario game that I owned and is the reason why I am a Nintendo fan today. I seriously enjoyed it until I became jealous of the Wii's graphics.

Wow so many people like double dash as a favorite..

That's because Double Dash was Baby Luigi and Toadette's playable debut

Well, Double Dash had well-designed courses, special items, and co-op play.

Being able to "mix" characters and race with both of them was just epic. I'd kill to have a Double Dash option in the new Mario Kart so I can play with Yoshi and Rosalina at the same time.

I'm one of the few people that actually prefer to be racing by myself, but I wouldn't mind it as an option.

Double Dash!! has the best Tracks, in my opinion, and my all time favourite.
Wii does have the best Online, but it's currently a Cheater Paradise, so this Award goes to 7.
But Wii still remains as the best Customizable game (only Hackers should understand it).
In terms of Skills, DS is the best, as that's not as much of an Item Hell.

They actually should make another Double Dash!! game, with strong Online, and minimize the Items.

Which is why it's the best in the series

Playing as baby luigi and baby mario was awesome. Double dash is currently still one of the most played mario kart games simply for the multiplayer splitscreen, it's all about hour and hours of balloon battle on luigi's mansion.

Don't forget about Shine Thief. That mode caused some serious madness. And what about the extremely fun Bob-Omb Blast? That was awesome as well.

1. Mario Kart Wii
2. Mario Kart 7
3. Mario Kart DS
4. Mario Kart 64
5. Mario Kart: Double Dash!!
6. Mario Kart: Super Circuit
7. Super Mario Kart

Super is really the only one I hate with a passion. Super Circuit isn't too bad and Double Dash!! was decent, but I was bored of it within a night.

Both of those modes were good, but I grew up on hours of mario kart 64 where all you had was balloon battle. Then when double dash came out, it was like someone taking your plain old vanilla ice cream and dipping it caramel and then giving it back to you.

I find it hilarious that Lefty and I just ignore the Shine and just go straight to killing Wario and DK with items.

Fuck them, I like my Ice-cream as vanilla. Bob-Omb Blast was okay, pretty fun. I didn't like Shine Thief though, it wasn't as fun as Balloon Battle.

Coin Runners was okay, but it felt unbalanced when you'd go from a lot to barely any in a few seconds.

I'm saying that we got balloon battle in along with better graphics. Double dash and Mario kart 64 are two of the best mario karts ever because of the basic multiplayer.

Never used it but looking atvthe idea, it makes the game less competitive.

Elaborate? You haven't used it, how do you know how it works?

I'm not sure if this is what he means, but this is what I interpreted it as.

If dying lets you go around and get revenge on your killer so you can kill them back, it becomes more of a just-for-fun game and less competitive (Even though Mario Kart is sort of a just-for-fun game to begin with). It gives players who are good at the game a disadvantage which I would consider unfair if it was some sort of competitive tournament. In competitions you are rewarded for your skill, not given a harder time because of it.

But I'm not 100% sure if that's what he meant, just how I read it.

Even so, you can hit your opponent only once with the bomb kart. It doesn't really impact anything unless said player has one balloon left, and besides, it occurs only when 3+ karts are around. You don't really play competitively with 3+ players.

It is. All needs is Shy Guy, Dry Bones, and Rosalina to make it awesome.
