Why do spinoffs never have RPG characters?

they got in trouble for that?

yeah because they used geno without permission or something.

They gave credit at the end.

even though i know credit isn't good enough when you need permission, i'm still annoyed squeenix would be whiney bitches about it

Wait, Nintendo really did get in trouble for using Geno in the minigame?

apparently yeah and enix is pretty bitchy in general, so its not really surprising.

I don't know why they even care, especially if they don't use Geno anymore and Geno plays such a minor role

if a character from any paper mario games comes, if wont make sense. can you imagine mario party? you would have peach, wario, mario and then a scrap of paper with a bad drawing of dimentio on it walking around.

I imagine if Dimentio or another Paper Mario character appeared in a 3D game, they would be rendered into a 3D character. After all, Mario and Co. are paper in the series, but they are 3D in the 3D games, so if PM characters were to appear, they would be 3D

SPM world designs were meant to be 2D in some aspects. But the other general RPG character designs are still based on the original Mario style or existed species. I don't think it's difficult to redesign them as 3D arts, unless you don't know what redesign is.

Also, Smash bros is an example trying to put all kind of different art designs together.

Well, that is what happened with the Star Spirits and the Goomba King.

Nintendo is currently making more money that squareenix at that moment so hopefully nintendo can buy the rights for Geno in the future. Square should'nt just sit on somthing their not even going to use. Also, Geno is kindof apart of mushroom kingdom history so they have to bring back eventually.

I don't think Nintendo even gives a ---- about Geno anymore, or just RPG characters in general.

I think you have to make sure that Nintendo just don't want to use minor RPG characters or they have copyright problems.

We can say Nintendo neglect Geno only after they had many other RPG characters return in new games without him. At least the last time I saw Mallow was same as Geno.

You're assuming Nintendo will do something with Geno.

They should release 2 Mario karts for the Wii u.a normal one, and the next big idea, Paper Mario and Luigi:RPG Kart. With all the rpg characters in all the locations.

I can't see that working or having any success at all, sorry.

I know it's not gonna happen but still, that would solve this problem.

Some other companies did try applying characters to different versions of the same game. However, we can get more characters from downloadable contents, if not to be restricted by game size. The real doubt is Nintendo would devote to doing as many models of characters as they can, or they just don't want to include RPG original characters at all.
The other probelm from your idea is, we don't actually have to take RPG characters apart from other Mario characters.

I simply say that RPG characters need some focus, but Nintendo can just choose one or two feasible candidates each time.

I know, but so are some of you guys. I think all of us tend to run on our assumptions at times, that's what this forum is for.
