It's not, really. It just so happens that several users did really good in certain places around the community, and so they were rightfully promoted.
Also, nobody cares about categories on Userpedia. I don't see how, they are just as important as any other bit of information on that wiki.

This hasn't been the first time that a lot of people have been promoted. We usually have them happen time to time.

Not really. If it was a promotion a day for a month (which is highly unlikely), then that would be noteworthy. Things like this happen all the time, it's just coincidental.

Or if it was dealing with the same thing (i.e. - All chat ops or only sysop promotions instead of 1 sysop, 1 patroller, 1 mod, and 1 chat op promotion).
