A couple pictures of my adorable snake, Paradox (who is older than Homestuck, to be clear). She's really hyper when I have her out, so it's hard to get non-blurry photos, but here's one - it's just really poorly aimed instead (but now you can also admire my '80s tube TV in the background). The other one is of her taking a bath.

although ive never seen a pet snake. How is it?

She's great. Very low maintenance - hardly ever have to clean her cage, and she only needs to be fed once a week (a re-heated frozen mouse - fed her last night, in fact). She never bites or anything, although her tongue tickles; her scales are cool and smooth, not slimy, and she's got strong muscles for climbing and constricting - there's nothing that feels quite like a live snake.
