A new game in the Mario & Sonic series has been announced for the Wii U, being the Sochi 2014 Winter Games.

If it is anything like the previous games, I will pass on it, I passed on 2012 and if this isn't a huge improvement on the series, I won't bother.

I'm not surprised at all. Even more, we worry about fewer and fewer changes like previous games.

And one thing I concerned in London Olympics is somewhat lack of regional features. These screenshots look more like an enhancement of artworks in WiiU rather than a new beginning of Olympics.

Not surprised they announced a new one. Probably will end up getting it if I have a Wii U by the time it comes out since my brother likes the series (and I don't mind the series either).

i only managed to watch a few seconds of the skiing before the video i was watching crashed, but tbh it looked almost exactly like the first winter game.

I lost my interest in theses games after london, I can see Sega will do the troll move again and DON´T add any new character, the "bosses" in both versions still NPC rather that fight them in an innovator way like in mario kart ds/wii, and the Portable version has the story mode...with luck this one will be more like the Winter 2010 story mode, with tons of maps and other this like that rather that the london 3ds one....ugh.

Outside that i dont expect alot new things in this next game

Well, hope that they really learned something from Sonic Racing Transformed. In this series I don't understand Sonic's roster at all, compared with Mario side.

One thing that baffles me is that I'm sure Metal Sonic wasn't shown at all in the video, yet all other previous playable characters are.

If this games turns out to be a pile of ass like the 3DS version of London games, then forget it. I HATE the stupid labeling of characters such as the "Wild Ones" or the "Girls".

I enjoyed the first winter games. I played the hell out of it so I could buy every item in the customization shop. Sadly, I think I'm missing a few things but I gave up on it.

Anyway, I would probably buy this. I'm surprised I enjoyed winter games so much despite only liking about 5 of the events. I think it was the dream levels.

I really enjoy this series (expect London) and I'm excited for Sochi. Though I hope this one is less party oriented and has more of a focus on single player. I understand this is the kind of game to play with many people, but with London and everything being party oriented made it annoying to play by yourself and since I usually play by myself I didn't enjoy it. It also didn't help everything was already unlocked from the very beginning.


I like the roster the way it is, but I would like to see some new characters join in like Rouge, Espio, Rosalina, and Birdo.

Like me. I love all the Olympic games and am very excited for this one. Also cool Speed Highway in winter.
