So Palkia was a stage hazard in Brawl and is now a Pokeball Pokemon. The next logical step is for him to be playable in Smash 5.

Think about it. Charizard was part of stage in Smash 64, a pokeball in Melee, and playable in Brawl.

I hated Palkia in Spear Pillar, so this is nice. Spear Pillar probably won't be returning as a classic stage or something.

Dialga would probably be a Pokeball Pokemon.

How does Villager not 'deserve' a slot, Animal Crossing is one of Nintendo's biggest franchises and from what I've seen he has an extremely interesting moveset.

Animal Crossing is a very time demanding series to the point that it feels like it is meant for Retired people.
Most Nintendo Series including Smash Bros are not geared to that kind of Audience.

Well, whether or not you want Villager, Wii Fit Trainer, or Rosalina in SSB4 or not doesn't matter. They are in it, and so you will simply have to deal with it.

And looking at statistics, they definitely deserve it. They all represent some of the best selling games/series Nintendo has had. Villager for Animal Crossing (and though you might like it does mean that all the other people that love it should think the same way as you); Wii Fit Trainer for Wii Fit (Which is one of the best selling Wii games ever)' and Rosalina for Super Mario Galaxy (Which was iirc the best selling Mario game for the Wii's duration).

So maybe you don't like them, but they have many reasons as to why they deserved to be in Smash Bros. 4.

To me it feels like Animal Crossing expects you to spend 2 Hours a day playing it to keep on the happenings leaving little to no time for other pleasurable activities.
If you have a job or have school (age dependent) you don' really have the time.
Animal Crossing is made for retired people who want to (kind of) re-live the joys of life.
Just becauser someone buys a game does NOT mean that they like all its Characters.
I've played Super Mario Galaxy and for the most part enjoyed the game.
However, I did not like several aspects including Rosalinas Character.
