I love how that trailer still managed to surprise me, despite the leaks.

I think Sakurai put that at the start just to still startle people.

I wouldn't be surprised, the owner of that voice at the end is first encountered in that area as well.

Finally something great came was announced at the end of what was almost the worst week ever for the game. So glad there was actually a light at the end of the dark tunnel. Shulk was a highly requested character and the request was fulfilled.

This also unfortunately proves the leak however.

I've never played Xenoblade so I don't really love or hate Shulk's inclusion. I will say the reveal felt underwhelming thanks to the leak. I suppose the rest of the reveals will feel that way though.

Not necessarily, that's only one character who had a very strong chance of being in anyway.

Pic of the day. From Xenoblade Chronicles, Shulk joins the battle!! He's not the type of character that would usually appear in the Smash Bros. series, but we worked really hard to make it happen. We're very happy with how he turned out. This stage is Gaur Plain.

Shulk's sword, the Monado, slashes enemies with a beam when activated, so it can strike from long range. What really makes this weapon unique is that when the Monado Arts are activated, it can change Shulk's features and abilities! Emerge victorious in battle by changing your abilities strategically!!

翔 (Jump): higher jumps, lower defense.
疾 (Speed): faster movement, weaker attacks.
盾(Shield): higher defense, slower movement.
斬(Buster): stronger attacks, weaker launch ability.
撃(Smash): Stronger launch ability, weaker attacks, lower defense against launching.

The good doctor from Brain Age likes to hang out off the stage and fling numbers at the fighters. When the numbers collide and equal 10, it will cause a giant explosion. You can change the direction of the number bubbles by attacking them.
