So, I thought Peach was the worst veteran in SSB4.................then I played as Samus.

Samus mains: how do you do it? How do you play good with Samus? Her specials take forever (minus Screw Attack), her Smash attacks have pathetic range and no killing power, her USmash is LOL (have fun trying to hit people with the entire thing). Just...I don't know man. And to think Sakurai said that she was the strongest character back at E3 (we all knew that was bull*bleep* anyways).
I can't use it properly, for the life of me. Its USmash is utter crap. Its F-Smash and D-Smash are its best kill moves. Its FAir is always lackluster. I think its best moves are Utilt, Dtilt, and... I don't know. Why can't it adopt some moves from Mii Gunner? Hell, why can't it be exactly like Mii Gunner, where it actually feels like a shooting character?

Not in Melee. Samus was pretty decent in Melee. I think it was midtier, though. Either way, I can't use it in Melee either. In Smash 64, it's THE bottom character.

Zelda's the one that's always bottom tier. Ness hasn't really fared well either in all games, although he got an initial strong tier placement in Smash 64.

I've used a fair bit of Greninja. It's not too spectacular. Its counter is probably one of the worst counters, but maybe I'm not controlling it properly. Its Shadow Sneak isn't that great; it feels too laggy to be useable. Its recovery is predictable and just meh overall. It just doesn't have a lot of great moves. It's not bad, but not good either.

It?

Also, Ness may end up being a strong character in this game. Maybe not high tier strong, but around upper-mid tier.

C'mon, don't you still agree that Samus needs to take some cues from Mii Gunner and Megaman, who handle the gunner aspect of it much, much better?

y'know for some odd reason, i cannot find myself able to do smash attacks with megaman

like, my mind was so set on the mega buster being the default chargeable b move, that when i found out it was his f-smash, i couldn't adapt

despite this, i can do his up and down smash perfectly fine, and i can do any other character's forward smashes so i don't fucking know

well think of it as a smash attack that has much range

I have never seen an Olimar though. I've never seen a few other characters in for glory as well.

Most annoying Samus players I come across use missiles and charge shots a lot. Her tilts are pretty quick with decent range so if someone comes in close there's that to shield -> attack with. At lower percents they usually shield -> grab instead so they can get you away easier. She has projectiles, use them. Charge Shot is a good kill move if you read someone's rolls. I don't play her but I've come across her on for glory fairly often and the ones that aren't patient are usually the easiest to beat.

I just hate projectiles because they're annoying to maneuver around. I don't mind strong ones like Samus' charge shot and Rosalina's luma shooting thing, it's hilarious reflecting those back at people. Smaller ones annoy me because dark pits reflectors are shit they rack up damage fast if you don't figure out how to get around them.

You're going to have some grief facing me because I love racking up damage with jumping and throwing fireballs/pills. Bouncy projectiles are awesome.

Lol, Olimar is extremely vulnerable to reflection this time. Take advantage of it.

Those Mario's are a pain to deal with. Fireballs to grabs to aerials and then I start hanging back because I'm basically walking on nails whenever I try to approach.

That's pretty much my strategy, but I do often use d-smash as a finisher since it's quick and easy to land a strong hit. And I do take advantage of Mario's pretty good off-ledge game. He's got a cape, FLUDD, f-air, b-air, and fireballs. The only real issue is his goddam'd recovery.

I think Smash 4 still rewards defensive play over aggressive play unlike Melee and Smash 64, so maybe that's why I feel like it's more like a Brawl expansion.

Oh yes, tenderizing your opponent with (Dr.) Mario's projectiles is one of my favourite things to do in matches.

Then as soon as they get used to them (assuming they have the Hylian shield, reflectors or an absorbing power), I stop and rush in and then they get smashed.

If they have none of those things, it's even worse for them.

It's not like projectiles are impossible to get around but it takes some adjusting and you need to basically figure out any noticeable patterns in their projectile usage and then attack when they're vulnerable. It's just sometimes they don't have a pattern and they're literally spamming projectiles and fuck you Toon Link you little piece of shit.

I pulled off a reflector kill finally~ My first time fighting Shulk in for glory and I killed him at 30% when he tried using air slash to get back on, reflectors basically blocked the damage and the wind box pushed him too far to grab the edge.

I could probably find some other nifty uses for the reflector's wind boxes.

I found out the PAL version has different Boxing Ring titles. Some are the same as in the NA version, but I'll still list them all for good Measure

Mario -> Smashes Bricks With His Fists
Luigi -> Lean, Green Fighting Machine
Peach -> Princess of The Mushroom Kingdom
Bowser -> King of The Koopas
Yoshi -> He's Not Yolking Around
Rosalina + Luma -> Cosmic Travelers
Bowser Jr. -> Like Father, Like Son
*Larry -> Leader of the Seven Minions
*Roy -> Fear the Shades
*Wendy -> Bold, Bossy, and Big-Headed
*Iggy -> The Laughing Prankster
*Morton -> He'll Make You See Stars
*Lemmy -> Let's Get Wacky
*Ludwig -> Pompous Prodigy
Wario -> Scoundrel With a Fart of Gold
Donkey Kong -> King of the Jungle
Diddy Kong -> Trigger-Happy With his Peanut Popgun
Mr. Game and Watch -> Master of Two Dimentions
Little Mac -> The Only Numbers he Knows is One-Two
Link -> Hero of Hyrule
Zelda -> Hyrule's Wise Princess
Shiek -> A Sheikah Shrouded in Mystery
Ganondorf -> The King of Evil
Toon Zelda -> Wave-Riding, Wind-Waking Warrior
Samus -> Bounty Hunter Extraordinaire
Zero Suit Samus -> Low Armor, High Agility
Pit -> Lady Palutena's Captain of the Guard
Palutena -> Goddess of the Light
Marth -> The Legendary Hero-King
Ike -> The Radiant Hero
Robin -> Tome-Toting Strategist
Duck Hunt -> The Most Unlikely of Partnerships
Kirby -> Gritty in Pink
King Dedede -> Says He's King, And That's That
Meta Knight -> The Masked Swordsman
Fox -> Never Gives Up! Trusts His Instincts!
Falco -> Proud Space Ace
Pikachu -> The Electric Mouse Pokemon
Charizard -> Blazing Fury
Lucario -> Exudes Power
Jigglypuff -> The Delightful Balloon Pokemon
Greninja -> The Unpredictable Ninja Pokemon
ROB -> Robotic Obliterating Buddy
Ness -> The PSI Powerhouse
Captain Falcon -> Supersonic F-Zero Pilot
Villager -> Mayor of Smashville
Olimar -> Veteran Astronaut
*Alph -> Novice Explorer, Engineering Pro
Wii Fit Trainer -> She'll Make You Feel The Burn!
*Male Alt -> He'll Blast Your Core!
Shulk -> Has Visions of Victory
Dr. Mario -> Fists Full of Medicine
Dark Pit -> Dark-Winged Doppleganger
Marth -> Defiant of Destiny
Pac-Man -> Ghost-Gobbler
Mega Man -> The Blue Bomber
Sonic -> Speed is His Game
Mii Fighters -> The *Insert Class* of Many Faces

(Sonic gets Blue Blur in the NA Version while Megaman doesn't get Blue Bomber. And in the PAL version it's vice versa. It's like we can't have Blue Bomber and Blue Blur in the same game :V)

That's rather odd, considering that Shulk doesn't even have any projectile attacks. Perhaps his Monado has some stuff that Reflector can counter?

The reflectors pushed Shulk away with the wind while he was trying to air slash.

Note to self: Never spam Reflect.

Ever.

Huh? Palutena's Reflect is like the best reflector in the game.
But if you spam it, you'll be easily mauled as the opponent will refrain from using projectiles and will just hit you while you're doing it.

That's true for all reflectors.

Pretty sure Palutena has the only reflector out of the characters she uses, so that's probably why she's being specific.

That's exactly what happened to me.
