As for Ridley, I can make him fight alongside me. Someday Ridley. Someday. With every game he's inched closer. First as a sprite in the background of a stage, then as a trophy and a cameo in Melee's intro, then a story mode boss, and now a boss that appears on a standard stage that can be used as an ally.
