though to be fair it seems like Gru is going the path of Shrek where he just loses the whole "oh yeah I'm a bad guy" shtick

shrek was never really a bad guy to start with, the humans just thought he was

and also shrek 2 was pretty good, so maybe this wil-

It was pretty entertaining. Graphically beautiful, and pretty funny. But plot wise, really lacking. There wasn't much plot development after the first ten or fifteen minutes, which were pretty much all shown in the trailer. It's pretty sad when you can guess the ending from a couple of minutes into the movie... Also, it felt like a missed oppurtunity to explore other super villains, and overall, didn't feel like a true sequel to Despicable Me.

yeah

it didn't have the subtle jokes that I usually enjoy in animated movies, but it was still funny nonetheless

just be prepared that the first ten or fifteen minutes are taken directly from the trailers

also when you come out every single kid will be screaming WEE DO WEE DO at the top of their lungs

also Kristen Schaal (the voice of Mabel from Gravity Falls) was in this for a good two minutes and that made my day
