Super Mario Bros. (NES) is my favorite game in the Mario series.
Which is your favorite?

btw, my record for the entire game is less than 6 minutes, a minute behind the world record. :)

My sister played a bit of Super Mario Bros. 3. She said it didn't age well.
 
I played a few days ago (SMB3). Again. :) Perhaps the best Super Mario Bros. game. The best part of the whole series.
 
The NES games are what got me into the Mario series in the first place. As to which one if my favorite, I'm going to have to say Super Mario Bros. 2.
 
The first video game I played goes to either Super Mario Bros. or Super Mario Bros. 3 (I played each within about 10 minutes of each other, so the specific order isn't important). The main thing is that I loved both of them and is quite likely the reason I got into the Mario series in the first place (if not it's either Mario Kart 64 or Mario Kart DS).

I don't play the NES Mario games too much now, though I occasionally play Mario All-Stars or other older Mario games like Super Mario 64.

I don't feel as much of a connection to the NES games because my first Mario games were for the SNES and N64, but I would have to go with SMB because it is what I played the most out of all 3. My favorite is definitely SM64 out of all of them.
 
In regards to the original, it's really hard for me to go back to it after playing Super Mario Bros. Crossover.

That said, my favorites of the original NES games are Mario 2 and Dr. Mario.
 
My latest speedrun. I struggled a lot with this World 5-1.

 
I'm one of the few people who find Super Mario Bros. 2 the most enjoyable classic Mario platformer
