A mesh of the game and show made into a trailer. Those designs (except for Tails and possibly Amy) look weirder in action, especially Knuckles. I'll never adjust to that.

so is this a game or is it a show?

Well we know this was a show. But on a technical standpoint it's both. There's also a game coming that ties-in with the show. But game discussion goes to the thread in the Video games section.

I like it. It keeps the style of the games.

Both the game and show look pretty good. Will definitely be checking into.

but the question is... will it ever surpass sonic x?

I think if you ask some people. It won't take much to surpass that series xP

The fact there's no Chris Thorndyke is probably enough to say this is better xD

(I don't hate Sonic X myself though, I actually haven't even seen every episode of the show)

From what I've seen of the trailer, seems like they're trying way too hard to be funny, and failing miserably.

It really wouldn't take much to surpass Sonic X.
no you are wrong in so many ways

sonic x is, like, the pinnacle of a kids' show. the only show that comes (sorta) close is phineas and ferb

found this article with some details about it, the parts that caught my eye are these:
- one episode of the show has Sonic firing Tails from his sidekick position
- Eggman applies for the position
- Eggman tries to get into Modern Lair Magazine and, after losing again to Sonic, he fakes an injury and takes Sonic to court

i wasn't interested before, but i think i'll have to give it a watch just for these two episodes :P

rest of the article is here:

oh yeah, you're right

i've only heard good things about it, and it's definitely on my list of shows to watch

Bet it's terrible like everything else related to sonic (except the adventure games)

About the fully-revealed artwork:

Buff Knuckles just doesn't look right... They really overdid the bandages on him and Sonic. Other then that, I don't have much to complain about, I think Tails and Amy look fine... Sonic somehow looks taller and lankier then before (so maybe some of the predictions were TRUE?!).

About the TV trailer:

...Well first off, I like Dr. Eggman's design for the show, despite being less egg-shaped and more top-heavy then in the games. And again with the bandages, why are they there?! ESPECIALLY on his shoes, wouldn't they get torn up or something? Everything else is fine, I thought the "Burnbot" thing was... kind of funny, though I was hoping Dr. Eggman would say it comes up with sick burns, you know?

About the game trailer...

Wait, THERE'S GOING TO BE A GAME BASED ON THIS?! I mean, I think this is the first time a Sonic show was directly tied into a video game; I'm not sure about Sonic Spinball, but Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine was Puyo Puyo with an Adventure of Sonic the Hedgehog skin. Aside from that, NONE of the Sonic shows did were ever mentioned, acknowledged, or tied into the games in any way. This is especially weird, considering this show is a Western production, apparently not being made in-house by Sega of Japan or anything. It'll definitely be fascinating to see this unfold...

As for the game itself... The characters' in-game models look weird... The game otherwise looks pretty sweet.

In Sonic's case, maybe the bandages are used BECAUSE Sonic is lankier? I mean, if in a 3D Modeling program, you erased the bandages and made Sonic fit, it would be closer to his original form...?

fyi the game is also being developed in the west. big red button (who i heard is apparently made up of former naughty dog employees, or something along those lines) is developing the wii u version, while the 3ds version is being made by sanzaru games (who made the new sly cooper game, as well as the sly trilogy hd remaster and a few other things)

Oh... interesting... Also, the company making the cartoon show is French... Considering the LAST French Sonic TV show I saw... ugh, nevermind. Somehow, this news has me less intrigued/excited, though I'm still looking forward to it all the same.

According to Bigredbutton's website, one of their co-founders (Bob Rafei) was once one of the lead designers at Naughty Dog, and was instrumental in releasing both Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter.

That's intriguing.

It doesn't matter if it's French or something... but I guess the association brought you bad memories.
