What is your Rainbow Road?

The same as you.

Along with liking both stages, I love both of the songs as well.

64 and Wii. I felt that 64 is just nostalgic while the Wii one held both challenge and fun.

7 was decent, but was pretty short and I dunno, just didn't seem that hard. SNES was okay but it was boring, and was annoying at times. Double Dash was fun, but it didn't give much.

Mario Kart 64's and Mario Kart 7's. I hated the one from Mario Kart Wii.

Mario Kart 7's one, I love the way it incorporates so many space elements.

Here are my opinions on the series' Rainbow Roads:

Super Mario Kart: It was pretty darn challenging for its time. Absolutely no railings, narrow roads, and flashing Thwomps added to the mix. 150cc in Rainbow Road with the cheating, item spamming AI totally made this a nightmare to race in. It's much easier in Mario Kart 7 thanks to bigger roads and much better handling. Oh and the AI isn't as bad.

Mario Kart 64: I can't believe many people actually like this ass of a stage. It's long, it's boring, and the only thing that won't keep you falling asleep is the random Chain Chomp chomping its way through the track. If there was irony in a stage in the Mario Kart series, this terrible Rainbow Road would get it. The only redeeming qualities about this course is the neon lights and the music. Otherwise, it just plain sucks. I've heard that the F-Zero version is MUCH better.

Mario Kart Super Circuit: Oh hey look, there's a Paper Mario reference here. Anyway, this course is ok. The boost panels and the ramps on the edges of the courses can throw you off and there are random lightning clouds and falling stars that can hit you. It's nothing special but it's not bad and it can be challenging at times. The controls may be bothersome but, eh, I'm used to Super Circuit controls. They never gave me too much of a problem.

Mario Kart Double Dash!!: The only reason this course is hard is because of the game's bad, slippery controls, so the course isn't really at fault here. Sure, the boost pads can throw you off but then, you get free stars too (even though they're usually on the edge). I personally hate this Rainbow Road. Any sort of homing item is useless due to the bumpy road and even the Chain Chomp can screw you up here due to its really bumpy nature. The music is cool though.

Mario Kart DS: The only reason I like this Rainbow Road is the neat loop-dee-loop and the corkscrew loops on the course. That is cool. Otherwise, there's nothing special about this Rainbow Road. It's not even challenging; the only part you should get worried about is getting hit while on the loops.

Mario Kart Wii: It's a nice Rainbow Road, but it's pretty plain and easy to drive through. The Super Mario Galaxy references are pretty neat but like Mario Kart DS's, there is nothing special about here. Other than it's a lightweight's nightmare on the downhill portion.

Mario Kart 7: This is personally my favorite Rainbow Road. It's the least plain looking as it takes place somewhere other than a random Rainbow-colored road floating in the middle of space and nowhere. No, you drive on planetary objects, the rings of a ringed gas giant, and gliding through an asteroid belt. This Rainbow Road is the absolute best in the Mario Kart series IMO. It's fun, it's enjoyable, and it provides a decent challenge at times. Well, it's not the more challenging of Rainbow Roads but the short, 1 lapped nature of the course keeps you on the look-out. Which is SO unlike the 64 Rainbow Road where you'll fall asleep racing it unless the horrendous AI and the Chain Chomps don't keep you awake.

Mario Kart Arcade GP 2: I know this Rainbow Road is the same as the first Mario Kart Arcade GP's but this one is the one I played. Rainbow Downhill and Rainbow Coaster are the names. If this was a course in the other Mario Kart games, it would be terribly easy and pretty boring but due to its ubiquity of it appearing in the rare Mario Kart Arcade games and its uniqueness, I'd say it's pretty fun to play through. The beginning of the course looks like a nice sci-fi setting in a space station, you get this neat teleporter that takes you to another land that looks like fantasy and dream, and then back to the future. There isn't much difference between the two except the layout so I'm going to list both as one.

Wii is my favorite, it has to be one of the hardest MK courses in history, if not the hardest. It felt very easy to fall off at all parts and has also very sharp corners, making this the prefect rainbow road.

64 was very nostalgic but lacked real challenge, it just felt like a 6 minute nostalgic drive that doesn't feel like an wacky course. Once again MK64 wasn't that great of a game because of the cheating AI, if your child, then you won't notice but honestly at my age, you will notice the rubber band.

DS was decent, it had cool loops but apart from that, it was just a simple Rainbow Road, could had been better, but it's okay I guess.

7 is my second favorite, I just wished if it was a bit longer.

Anyone will notice it regardless of age. It's that bad.

@Baby Luigi: Perhaps it's just blind nostalgia, but I can't really help the fact I love N64's Rainbow Road so much. Heck Mario Kart 64 by itself is really a game that doesn't really hold up today but is still held highly for those who had love for it. I just to seem to be one of those sentimental gamers that can ignore flaws and/or games that aged badly simply because I remember enjoying it at some point.

I love it very much just for the aesthetics of it. Driving on a long course, the music, with surrounding constellations of the playable characters in the game and more. I also believe that it was the Rainbow Road that set the tone for every future one ahead. It's true that in some ways the Rainbow Roads that came were much more improved and much more challenging (Given N64's Rainbow Road only way to fall was to go off on a weird angle on that big ramp or get knocked out high and over the Star rails. Perhaps it's silly to have those reasons alone in enjoying a course, but I just can't change my thoughts on it.

I'm really hoping it comes back in Mario Kart 8 where they could perhaps really improve the track and even put twists and necessary changes to work with today's Mario karts. Not to mention have the beauty and atmosphere of the track get totally remade in HD.

64's and 7's, the former because of nostalgia, the latter because I thought it was actually pretty good.

Don't get me wrong, I love Mario Kart 64's tracks and I did loved Rainbow Road. However, my nostalgia with Mario Kart 64 did not hold for this Rainbow Road as of currently. The last time I played it, it was really long and boring. I liked most other N64 tracks though.

I don't have a Rainbow Road.

My favorites would have to be that in Mario Kart 7. I love flying through space and skidding through rings (even if it is scientifically inaccurate).

You're complaining about scientific inaccuracy in a Mario Kart game NOW?

Well, they could've at least got the asteroid part right, where there should be extremely few asteroids in the way, and the rings on a planet aren't even solid. Also, you can't really have fire in outer space since there are no oxygen to burn, so how Fire Flowers can be used, it's a total mystery... and that part where you drive over lava, even though the lava is supposed to scorch you when you're close to it? Yeah, give me a break. The only part where they got right was that nobody blows up in outer space, so I'm glad that's not the case. There's no other space myth that's so wrong than exploding in space.

Oh lol you forgot about freaking gravity (unless the Rainbow Road has something to do with it) and how can you fly in space with merely a glider?
